Spring football is a few weeks away. However, the work has not slowed down in the lab and on the seven-on-seven fields. Here are some 2027 prospects ready for a breakout.

[player_tooltip player_id='441618' first='Jeremiah' last='Dent']-Athlete/Running Back-Marion-6'0” 200-Pounds

[player_tooltip player_id='441618' first='Jeremiah' last='Dent'] is a prospect who can take over a game on the offensive side of the ball. Dent does an excellent job of making opposing defenders miss tackles. He has the patience to allow his blockers to open rushing lanes. Dent is a player who can carry the ball between the tackles or cut the run down the sideline. Meanwhile, he is a running back who does a great job of catching the football and functioning as a wide receiver. Dent is poised for a big 2026 football season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1618896' first='Rourke' last='Sevier']-Linebacker-Batesville-5'11” 205-Pounds

The Batesville linebacker is coming off an impressive 2025 season. Sevier is a linebacker who has a nose for the football and always seems to be around the ball. He does a great job of reading the play. Sevier uses his speed well to shed blocks and get to the ball carrier. Sevier is a prospect to expect a big season from this upcoming season. I look for Sevier to have a strong spring and summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='457238' first='Treyson' last='Reith']-Tight End-Har-Ber-6'3” 230-Pounds

The Har-Ber tight end is the type of player who can take a game over. Reith does a great job of creating separation from opposing defenders. He has a good catch radius and can haul in anything that is thrown in his direction. Reith can be used effectively as a tight end or be split out wide. Reith is a prospect to watch out for during the offseason. I expect a big 2026 season from Reith.

[player_tooltip player_id='1642112' first='Drew' last='Jackson']-Quarterback-Rogers-6'3” 205-Pounds

[player_tooltip player_id='1642112' first='Drew' last='Jackson'] is a prospect we have been watching for several years. Jackson throws the football with tremendous accuracy to all areas of the field. He is able to fit the football into tight coverages with no problem at all. Jackson does a good job of reading the opposing defensive coverage. Meanwhile, he knows when to escape the pocket and use his mobility to pick up yards on the ground. I expect a big offseason from Jackson.

[player_tooltip player_id='1649900' first='Colby' last='Castling']-Offensive Line-Fort Smith Southside-6'4” 295-Pounds

[player_tooltip player_id='1649900' first='Colby' last='Castling'] is an offensive lineman who plays with a chip on his shoulder. He has the ability to overpower opposing pass rushers. Castling can drive opposing pass rushers backwards. He has the mix of speed and power that causes problems for opposing defenders. Castling does a good job of opening up rushing lanes. Castling is a player to watch out for throughout the spring and offseason.
