<p>The 2026 Elite Football Combine happened this past Saturday, with over 250 players coming from across the region to compete and find out where their stack up among some of the best of the best. It was loaded with some outstanding athletes, including a good group of speedsters who burned up the turf during their laser forty yard dashes with 10 players running sub-4.6. Here were the top performers. </p>

<p><strong>Cameron Akins</strong> I Wichita (KS) East I 2028 I<br>(6'0" 170) DB - 4.41 Forty<br>- Speedy lockdown corner who blazed down the turf in his forty, and who was among the best of the best in other testing. His athleticism translates well to the field. Had 18 tackles and 8 pass break ups as a sophomore.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='1727368' first='Ethan' last='Ross'] I Centralia I 2027 I<br>(6'0" 175) ATH - 4.41 Forty<br>- Another burner at the combine who was lightning showcasing his speed in the forty. The versatile athlete can play RB/WR and DB. Accounted for over 1,200 yards total offense and had 12 touchdowns as a junior.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='1188262' first='Arness' last='Webb'] I CBC I 2027 I<br>(5'7" 160) WR - 4.46 Forty<br>- Another speedster with a sub-4.5 time who excelled in testing throughout the entire combine. Saw limited varsity time as a sophomore, but averaged 18.6 per catch on 7 grabs. Look for an expanded role as a junior. Having a big 7v7 season.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='1727428' first='Carter' last='Holmes'] I Lindbergh I 2027 I<br>(5'11" 166) WR - 4.49 Forty<br>- Legit track speed that transfers well on the football field in games and in one on ones at the combine. Versatile and can play receiver or defensive back. Real sleeper. Had 18,4 yards per catch for 570 yards and 9 TDs as a junior, with 33 tackles and a pick on defense.</p>

<p><strong>Gabriel Jenkins </strong>I Hallsville I 2027<br>(5'10" 144) WR - 4.51 Forty<br>- A real sleeper to watch for who put up big numbers during his junior season, and showed the speed and athleticism to match it at the combine. A name colleges need to take a look at. Had over 1,000 yards receiving as a junior with 9 touchdowns in 2025 earning numerous post-season honors. </p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='1222940' first='Kingston' last='McPike'] I CBC I 2028 I<br>(5'11" 181) WR - 4.51 Forty<br>- Had to sit out varsity last season after transferring, but was a real weapon receiving and running the ball, along with as a returner on JV with over 1,300 yards total offense and 15 touchdowns. Won one of the MVP awards on the day testing and with his skills he displayed.</p>

<p>Jory Thomas I Jackson I 2027 I<br>(6'1" 183) WR - 4.52 Forty<br>- One on the top returning receivers in the state in his class after helping his team make a nice run in the playoffs with big plays. Did not disappoint at the combine showing the same speed and skills I watched him display from the sideline against CBC in 2025. Had over 1,000 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior. Definite college prospect. </p>

<p><strong>Adem Sezen</strong> I Francis Howell I 2028 I<br>(6'1" 172) S - 4.52 Forty<br>- A rising sleeper at defensive back. Was one of the biggest surprises on the day at the combine with his impressive speed and overall athleticism and testing. Uses his speed well in coverage in one on ones. Had 42 tackles and a sack last season. </p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='1287040' first='Coleman' last='Murchison'] I St. Dominic I 2027 I<br>(6'1" 185) WR - 4.57 Forty<br>- The combines overall MVP put on a show finishes in the top overall testing in every event, and also in one on ones with his receiving ability, including his burst and ability to get separation with ease. One of the biggest sleepers in the Midwest given his skills and athletic ability. Averaged 24 yards per catch and had 11 touchdowns as a junior. </p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='991868' first='Gage' last='Hale'] I Logan-Rogersville I 2028 I<br>(5'10" 160) WR - 4.57<br>- A versatile and big-time playmaker on the field who surprises defenders with his speed and extra gear he can hit to create space and pull away. Has great hands and route running. Had over 1,000 yards and 11 touchdowns receiving, and 55 tackles and 4 picks at DB as a sophomore. Bright future. </p>
