The Watch List: Episode 2

The Christ the King Athlete played across the offense this season, and was a valuable part in a deep playoff run. He has an outstanding frame, standing at 6'3" 200-Pounds.   Smith is an excellent down hill runner, who excels in finding gaps on the line. I like his footwork, and it allows him to make sharp cuts through the line and break through to the second level. He has a quick burst that allows him to reach his top speed quickly. His strength is his biggest plus, as he can bounce and shake off defenders with ease. He is extremely hard to take down, and it typically takes more than two defenders to bring him down.   Smith was forced to play as a QB and RB for a Christ the King team that dealt with injuries. He is expected to play RB in his Senior Season, where I expect the offers to roll in for the extremely talented Catholic League Back.      Moving to the PSAL League, we have [player_tooltip player_id='2133659' first='Jonathan' last='David']. The Stuyvesant prospect is one of the most physicality gifted lineman in the 2027 class in my opinion. Standing at 6'3" 300-Pounds, he displays an excellent size for an Interior Lineman.   [player_tooltip player_id='2133659' first='Jonathan' last='David'] is a High IQ playmaker who can play across the interior of the line. I like him mainly as a Center at the next level, and his GPA, makes him an easy candidate for Ivy League schools. David is an excellent Pull Guard who displays outstanding leverage, and good strength as a lead blocker. His understanding of leverage, along with hand placement which allows him to knock down defenders and create gaps in the line without holding or falling behind rushers.
