PRZ-NE Stock-Up Showcase: QB Honorable Mentions

<p>A solid group of young quarterbacks attended Prep Redzone's New England Stock-Up Showcase, which was held Feb. 7 at the Danbury (Conn.) Sports Dome. Players were tested in combine drills, received position-specific coaching and then competed in the one-on-one portion of the event.</p>   <p>From what was on display at the New England Stock-Up Showcase, very little separated most of the quarterbacks who participated. Coaches who worked the event and Prep Redzone scouts were asked to identify the top player at each position group and seven players were in the conversation for the quarterback MVP. The <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/02/prep-redzone-new-england-stock-up-showcase-top-5-qbs/">top five quarterbacks at the New England Stock-Up Showcase were identified earlier this week</a>, but here are five Honorable Mention QBs who also stood out:</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Despite being a sophomore, Kiricoples looked like one of the most seasoned quarterbacks in attendance. Also a standout outfielder for Bishop Fenwick, Kiricoples passed for 2,311 yards and 26 touchdowns last season. He also showed dual-threat ability by rushing for 181 yards and two TDs. With the exception of some deep throws, he was accurate with his passes and showed off a strong arm at the showcase. He also tested well by covering 8-10 in the broad jump twice, and posted 4.38 and 4.17 times in the pro-agility shuttle.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/DrewKiricoples/status/1998368069496844314?s=20 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">Cartwright has a solid build for a sophomore, and stood out early in the event when the quarterbacks were asked to escape the pocket and deliver the ball while on the run. He made accurate throws while moving to his left and to his right. Cartwright also showed good touch on medium and long passes and looked like someone ready to contribute at the varsity level. He tested exceptionally well and recorded 9-1 twice in the broad jump. </p>      <p class="text-gray-700">Lyons showed accuracy and good touch from the pocket and when he was on the move. He almost always gave his receiver a chance to make the catch. Unlike some of the QBs, he didn't hang on to the ball too long before making his throw. Lyons showed his athleticism last season, when he appeared in 10 games for New Milford. He passed for 1,632 yards and 19 touchdowns with six interceptions, and also rushed for 155 yards and five TDs. Lyons recorded times of 4.73 and 4.84 in the pro-agility shuttle. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/ryan_lyons3/status/2020564554531385350?s=20 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">Production wasn't an issue for Abarno last season, when he completed 205-of-311 passes and finished fourth in Connecticut with 2,540 passing yards. He threw 37 touchdown passes and was intercepted nine times. Abarno wore a knee brace at the showcase because of an ACL injury that cost him most of the 2024 season. He came back strong by tossing a school-record six TD passes in Plainville's 2025 opener. He showed excellent timing and touch on many of his deep throws, and will likely be one of the top pocket passers in Connecticut next season. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/Abarno6/status/2021030027333148870?s=20 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">Creswell was the only quarterback from New Hampshire who attended the New England Stock-Up Showcase, and he may have been the most intriguing quarterback in attendance as well. He looked raw, but that can be explained by a wrist injury that cost him all of his freshman season. He wasn't Epping/Newmarket's starting QB when the 2025 season began, but worked his way into that role and guided the Mules to the playoffs. He showed good athleticism at the showcase, but will have to work on getting the ball out of his hand quicker.
