As customary with my event coverage, I feverishly write as many notes as I can, as quickly as I can, in order to report on as many prospects as I can. In this feature from Prep Redzone Next's New Jersey Exposure Camp, I share my positional notes for the group aforementioned in this article's title. More coverage on different groups will be forthcoming in the days to follow, so be sure to check back later!

Offensive Line Notebook

[player_tooltip player_id='2106085' first='Mj' last='Yasin'] was one of the more dominant 8th grade offensive lineman that I have gotten to see live in a camp setting. Yasin appears to have been the beneficiary of strong coaching, as I noticed the clamp-and-chop technique applied when engaged with a pass rusher. Moreover, his hand placement was outstanding - specifically when he rode people out the frame - as he controlled them by getting his low hand on their oblique/hip area. Yasin's aggressive nature was on display too, as I watched him attack the neutral zone - clearly demonstrating his mentality that he wants every bit of green grass. Finally, he was very strong for his age. At arguably his finest moment of the morning, Yasin totally tossed someone out of the club when pass protecting.

Trenchlife is not a life you choose, it chooses you. This embrace is part of what I enjoyed about [player_tooltip player_id='2083417' first='Ethan' last='Perry'] so much. A 2032 graduate (6th grader), he tall for his size (5'11") yet still athletic due to his leanness (159lbs). Although I did not witness him out-muscle anyone on the day, his feet were really good. The result of this was Perry staying in front of his opponents when they elected to go either outside or inside. Unless he continues to grow at his young age, I hope that Perry avoids becoming a disillusioned basketball player because, well, he could be a damn good offensive lineman with feet like that an an early acceptance of his role on the team.

[player_tooltip player_id='2108390' first='Dominic' last='Miller'] was a prospect that I thought was raw and showed some positive qualities to his game. His size alone (5'11", 222lbs), makes him a formidable presence along the line. For the most part he was able to match the size and speed of his matchups; however, one immediate area for him to be mindful of and apply to his game is that space is an offensive lineman's best friend when pass protecting. Extending his arms, punching, and recoiling will enable Miller to maintain a safe distance from defenders and avoid them ever truly threatening the integrity of the pocket.

Being the shortest (5'4") prospect in the 8th grade group, you have to take some lumps sometimes. That said, [player_tooltip player_id='1401816' first='Landon' last='Connell'] fought admirably and ought to be proud of his effort this morning. He brought forth outstanding spirit, intensity, and coach-ability to his game. It seemed as though Connell was in a constant feedback loop with his position coach as he sought ways to improve. His feisty spirit and approach, never cowering and wanting all the smoke, earned him the respect of his coaches, scouts, opponents, and fellow offensive linemen.
