As customary with my event coverage, I feverishly write as many notes as I can, as quickly as I can, in order to report on as many prospects as I can. In this feature from Prep Redzone New England's Stock Up Showcase, I share my positional notes for the group aforementioned in this article's title. More coverage on different groups will be forthcoming in the days to follow, so be sure to check back later!

When I cover an event with combine scores, I blindly take notes and then get a roster as well as combine scores after the fact. The joy in that is an unbiased feedback and a bit of self-validation after the fact. [player_tooltip player_id='1317836' first='Kelvin' last='McKnight'] delivered - both on the field and for my ego. I noted that McKnight possessed very quick feet and that he looked good. During the competition phase of camp, he absolutely attacked the ball. Upon receiving combine scores after the fact, his quickness and explosion was confirmed as he ran the shuttle in 4.23 seconds, had a shuttle time of 7.07 seconds, and a broad jump of 9'5"... A younger prospect who showed up to complete was Jeremiah Datil. A smooth mover (7.17 shuttle), he was fluid athlete ready to compete. Balance and better positioning will be more a part of his game as he learns to continue to play with lower pad level.

These next two prospects were efficient, disciplined prospects... [player_tooltip player_id='2123324' first='Alex' last='Ji'], a rising junior, wasted absolutely no steps in his breaks, movement, shuffles, and backpedal. For what it is worth, Ji had one of the cleanest footwork that I noted out of the defensive back position group... There is no coincidence that the largest defensive back (6'2" 178lbs) was the most powerful. With his that size and a 9'7" broad jump, [player_tooltip player_id='1906743' first='Henry' last='Kasouf'] profiled as more of a safety. Although he was not as athletic as the litany of cornerbacks that he shred a position group with, Kasouf was extremely technically sound. Kasouf needed little-to-none coaching in terms of his technique, skills, or drills. He masterfully understood and executed each and every one with ease.

[player_tooltip player_id='2102992' first='Jalen' last='Pierre'], bib number 119, is a prospect that I had listed as a defensive back on my event roster; however, my notes indicated that he competed as a quarterback. A 6'2" 2029 graduate, I was enamored with how the ball came off of his hand, how much juice he got on it, and how well he executed is throws; however, I became obsessed with his mechanics. No doubt about it, Pierre has an extremely talented arm. That said, he uses what appears to be, exclusively his upper body to throw the ball. There was zero step, gather, stride, hip activation, or stance arrow in his upper body. My imagination went wild. If Pierre refined his throwing mechanics, he could possibly have one of the strongest, most live arms in the Northeast. That is how strongly I feel about my evaluation of Pierre.
