To say that the Glades Central Raiders are back is something that brings smiles to football fans throughout the state of Florida.

This program, which has enjoyed so much success over the decades, had fallen on hard times for several years – and that was something that fans throughout the state noticed and talked about often.

While there have been several coaches who have attempted to get this program back on track through the years, it took one of their own to turn things around.

What one time standout player Omar Haugabook has done since taking over is to bring back some of those old school values that made this program so successful for decades, churning out prospects and bringing the “Muck” championship teams.

Coming off a 10-2 season, the Raiders fell short of the goals that they set before the 2025 season, losing to St. Petersburg Lakewood in the second round the state playoffs, 14-7, but that only shifted the focus to this off-season – and this team has made good use of the past few months as they race toward spring.

RISING SENIOR CLASS IS SET TO MAKE AN IMPACT

Part of the reloading process at this school is experience and leadership, and the rising senior class (2027) has some quality talent.

Leading the way in the class is three-year varsity standout Daryl “D.J.” Goring, a defensive back who has already received offers from FIU and Troy State.

While Goring is certainly the centerpiece of the program, he is not alone. The Raiders also have some other impressive 2027 players such as Juder Joseph (WR), [player_tooltip player_id='2073044' first='Vinkevious' last='Jones'] (DL), Jatavious James (WR), Javier Flores (K), Aldo Carbajal (OL), Osiel Carbajal (OL), and defensive backs Deion Bryant and Kamari Paul.

HOW ABOUT THE FUTURE?

As the 2027 class figures to give the Raiders talent, experience and leadership, there are several underclassmen who will be ready to step up. Among those rising juniors (2028) will be Cordae Kendal (DB/WR), San'Torion Minus (DL), Kethian Dennard (WR), Xavier Breedlove (OL), Xavier Jackson (DL), Demarcus Brown (OL), Damien Mann (OL), Cameron Hubbard (OL) and defensive back Charlemond Richards.

There will several Class of 2029 rising sophomores that Glades Central will count on as well. Prospects such as Algernod Crawford (WR), Rashawn Nembhard (WR), Michai Price (QB) and defensive lineman Santos Rodriguez.
