Rapid-fire transfer-portal movement dominated recruiting headlines all over the country for the first two and a half weeks of the new year.

That was as prevalent as anywhere in Louisiana where a long list of former prep standouts and current college players alike were on the move.

But once the transfer action largely subsided and college coaches were able to start hitting the roads and the phones to high school prospects, a slew of new offers headed out to rising seniors as the 2027 class begins to take more of the forefront in prep recruiting.

Note: Many colleges continued adding 2026 athletes on the traditional February signing day — although in many cases just some final pieces to incoming high school classes that were heavily stocked in December's early period — and some may potentially still find room for limited late additions.

But Prep Redzone Louisiana is in the process of through the biggest updates on the recruiting trail that caught our attention during the second half of January and first half of February, position group by position group as 2027 starts taking center stage.

[player_tooltip player_id='934555' first='Braylon' last='Calais'] — 6-3, 200 ATH — Cecilia

One of Louisiana's top-ranked prospects overall has added another couple of notable offers to his already-long list as he appears to begin zeroing in more closely on his top contenders for his services. Kentucky, where former LSU offensive coordinator Joe Sloan now holds the same position, and Louisiana (Lafayette), the closest program to home, have both extended the most recent offers, while LSU, Houston and Ole Miss have made visits to Cecilia and have already secured official visit dates from Calais this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1251692' first='Ronald' last='Cash'] — 6-1, 165 WR — John F. Kennedy

Cash was on the Prep Redzone Louisiana radar — and high in the rankings — early in his high school career as a long, lean and intriguing prospect at De La Salle. After a transfer and some missed time, but also notable continued physical development, his recruiting process has started to gain some steam with Arkansas State the latest college to join a list that also includes Florida Atlantic, Troy, Southern Miss and Old Dominion.

[player_tooltip player_id='1610147' first='Ethan' last='Kimmie'] — 6-4, 190 WR/DB — Zachary

Texas A&M made an early move on Kimmie last January at a time when he was still an intriguingly athlete, but raw and largely under-the-radar underclassman prospect at University Lab. Now, on the heels of a big junior campaign at Zachary, several other programs have kicked his recruiting process into full gear as his final high school offseason ramps up. Kentucky offered in November, and Arkansas, Syracuse and Louisiana (Lafayette) have all quickly expanded his list in recent weeks.

Josiah Morgan — 6-2, 190 WR — Ruston

Morgan wrapped up his junior season with nearby Grambling State as his first offer and a few other programs, including hometown Louisiana Tech, showing interest. During the past five weeks, he has become one of the state's hotter names with an exploding list of options that now includes Arkansas, Southern, South Alabama, Old Dominion, Louisiana Tech, Houston, Louisiana (Lafayette), Arkansas State and McNeese State.

Kaiden Seals — 6-1, 175 WR/ATH — Franklin Parish

The Patriots' versatile athlete, one of the rising seniors who will continue the program's growing run of college signees, recently received his first college offers from Southern and South Alabama. Seals caught 30 passes for 600 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior and figures to be a wide receiver at the next level as well, but also threw for more than 200 yards and four scores this past fall and will have the opportunity to have the ball in his hands every place as a senior as he takes the reins at quarterback more full-time.

[player_tooltip player_id='1812209' first='Robert' last='Taylor'] — 6-4, 180 WR — Ferriday

The Trojans' tall, springy pass-catcher earned a top-100 spot in Prep Redzone Louisiana's rankings last year based off limited footage, but remained one of the state's more under-the-radar prospects. Louisiana (Lafayette) became the first program to extend an offer this month and doesn't figure to be the last as more programs take a closer look through the basketball playoff, spring practices and upcoming summer camps.

[player_tooltip player_id='1614578' first='John' last='Walker V'] — 6-1, 175 WR — Plaquemine

Walker's recruiting process has taken off this month following a second straight season with big numbers and all-district honors for a Green Devils program starting to make a habit of deep playoff runs. Louisiana Tech, Southern Miss, Liberty and McNeese State have all extended offers in recent weeks.

Dillon Robb — 6-4, 240 TE — West Ouachita

Add the Chiefs' big, physical blocker and sure-handed pass-catcher to the list of intriguing tight end prospects in Louisiana's 2027 class. Robb recently landed his first college offer from McNeese State, will join the Prep Redzone Louisiana rankings during the next round of updates and should be an interesting name to watch in the coming months.
