In the hours following their stunning 23-22 state championship win over Miami Northwestern to capture the 3A state title, head coach Donovan Masline and his staff quickly looked to 2026.

While the Vikings finished the year perfect at 14-0, the win over the nationally rated Bulls validated a season where this program avenged the 2024 setback to Northwestern and showed just why the 680 points they scored, and five shutouts only proved that this was a team that was loaded with elite prospects and plenty of that depth.

While they will lose several key prospects from this team that brought home a state title to Duval County, Masline has built his alma mater into a power and not just team that will win for a few years and disappear.

As they hit the off-season, they know that they will be the team that will have to defend its title, and every opponent that they will line up against will get up for that game.

As they will lose some quality prospects, the Vikings will return plenty of talent – and of course – pick up some transfers along the way like the great teams do each year.

This will be a rising senior class (2027) that will have some spots to fill, but also will have the players to compete

Among those prospects to keep an eye on will be Roderick Adams Jr. (OL – 3.5 GPA), Curtis Asbery (RB), Jedon Austin (WR), Antwuan Brackett (OL – 3.0 GPA), Keelan Burke (DT), Troy Butler (DE/Athlete - 3.1 GPA), Jabari Denefield (DB), Travis Dixon Jr. (DB), Chenaniah Doran (DE) and impressive kicker Dan Duong (PK – 3.4 GPA).

The class will also have Leondre Fletcher (DT), Devin Frazier (WR), Jordan Gant (OL), [player_tooltip player_id='899818' first='Kiran' last='Jackson'] (WR), [player_tooltip player_id='900786' first='Johdeem' last='Jones'] (LB), [player_tooltip player_id='1715870' first='Zalen' last='Martin'] (RB – 3.1 GPA), Isaiah Mayden (OL), Andre Milledge (DT), Adrian Mincey (DB), Kymory Murphy (QB), William Pitre (FS – 3.44 GPA) and linebacker Arquis Robinson.

THE FUTURE LOOKS VERY BRIGHT

As the rising senior class will feature some experience along with leaders, the underclass will be stacked with prospects just waiting to compete and make an impression – which they will have the chance to do this off-season.

Among those rising juniors (2028) will be Roderick Adams (OL – 3.5), McKinley Alexander (OL – 3.5 GPA), Messiah Austin (DE), Jayden Fiacre (DB), [player_tooltip player_id='1671054' first='Derrick' last='Fort'] Jr. (DB – 4.7 GPA), Tyson Godboldt (DE), [player_tooltip player_id='605913' first='Zion' last='Green'] (WR), Jackson Havener (OL), Roland Johnson (DT), Antoinne Kelly (OG), Travis King (RB), Knowledge Lewis (DE/OLB), Isaiah Madyun Jr. (OL – 3.0 GPA), Oscar Moore III (LB), Masiah Smith (LB/SS) and defensive back Larry Underwood.

While the rising sophomore class has plenty of talent, several of those 2029 prospects had the chance to really make a statement – with the others looking to turn heads this off-season into spring and summer.

Among the names to keep an eye on include Shad Anderson (WR), Donald Bartley (DE), Devin Bell (WR), Jamari Braziel (WR), Zion Broadnax (LB), Kwamaine Butler (DT), Hassan Clark (DE/WR), Nicholas “Nick” Davis (DE), Trenton Edwards (OL), Rodalia Gelsey (DB), Justin Harper (WR), Roy Harvison (OL) and receiver Gerald Hawkins III.

The class also has Bryce Hosendorf (OL), Deondre Johnson (LB), Deshaun Johnson (OL), Avery Jones (OL), Kareem Jones (WR), Jayden Lovett (OL – 3.0 GPA), Ameer Mabane (RB), Quincy Matthews (WR – 3.25 GPA), Sa'mon Ellison-Morgan (QB – 3.5 GPA), Patrick Robinson (RB/OLB), Ariel Sapp (WR), Diangelo Thompson (WR) and Dominique Thompson (WR).
