As customary with my event coverage, I feverishly write as many notes as I can, as quickly as I can, in order to report on as many prospects as I can. In this feature from Prep Redzone Next's New Jersey Exposure Camp, I share my positional notes for the group aforementioned in this article's title. More coverage on different groups will be forthcoming in the days to follow, so be sure to check back later!

I am genuinely curious to see how [player_tooltip player_id='1606045' first='Carter' last='Wilson'] pans out over the next few years. The current 8th grader showed much promise on the reps that I caught of him. During his first rep his timing was off. I saw Wilson throw behind his receiver when he should have led him. Later on, Wilson delivered an immediate, confident, and accurate throw to the running back in the flat. This leads me to believe that the first throw might have been attributed poor timing with a receiver he never threw to before... I think that James Johnson, a 5'9" 6th grader, might have gotten lost in the sauce as I only caught a glimpse of him during indy. I remarked that he had a quick release, a strong arm, and delivered a great ball. I hope that I get another shot to see Johnson down the road.

Sometimes you just like the way a player plays. For me, that was the case with [player_tooltip player_id='2049924' first='Jack' last='McCabe']. For a little guy (5'4", 103lbs), he had impressive arm strength. During the competition phase of the event, I realized that McCabe has a little gunslinger in him. McCabe was unabashed to execute throws and seemed to relish in the opportunity to mix it up and compete... In a rather impressive manner, Luke Jacobs was able to get excellent lob on one of his throws when he went deep. Almost like a tear drop, it landed seamlessly into his target's bread basket. I did notice, however, that loft tended to be a trend for him. Many of his balls straddled the line between loft/lob and fluttering.

[player_tooltip player_id='1892130' first='Drew' last='Ellis'], a quarterback that I did not get biographical information about indicating he might have been a walk-up, looked awfully good. Ellis had a greatly impressive spiral that delivered an extremely catchable ball. Just the way it left Ellis' hands looks as though he was born to play the position. One area to continue to grow for Ellis is ball placement when targeting a receiver.
