Lockdown DBs Added to Our List (2027 Rankings Update)

We're back with more on our new 2027 Rankings Update!   Today, we're looking at some of the new talented additions to our DB room! These guys have played really well over the last year and deserve some more recognition- so we're heading to the film room to watch some of what they did last season!   As always, be sure to check out their tape; you won't want to miss out on this kind of talent!    Ai'King is a really talented DB from Dothan who's coming in as our #6 DB and #43 overall player in the class.   "Hall is a high-effort defender you don't want to put the ball near. He's quick, instinctual, and has the athleticism to make plays all over the field. I love watching him in coverage. He can completely take WRs out of games, locking them up and breaking up anything thrown his direction.   Hall also provides a ton of value as a returner. He has great field vision and dominant speed he uses to find lanes and take the ball upfield for huge gains, constantly putting his team in great starting field position."   I was really impressed with what King did last season. He's a talented defender who can make huge plays both against the run and pass. Be sure to check out some of his tape below, he's skyrocketing in the recruiting world.      [player_tooltip player_id='1847864' first='Keith' last='Turner III'] is a talented DB from Saraland who's coming off a productive season that's landed him as our #18 DB and #108 player in the class.   "[player_tooltip player_id='1847864' first='Keith' last='Turner III'] is one of my favorite new players in our 2027 Rankings. He's a dominant coverage DB who can line up and produce at a high level at both CB and S. Turner has great size, speed, hands, and ball skills that he uses to locate, break up, and intercept passes all over the field.   Turner is a physical defender as well. He consistently wins one-on-ones, fighting off pass catchers for the ball, and does a great job providing run support near the line of scrimmage as well. I can't wait to see Turner play this upcoming season. He has so much to offer to Saraland's defense."   Turner III has put together some impressive tape from last fall. I'm excited to watch him play out his senior season. I think he has a huge year ahead; until then, be sure to check out some of his film below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1880424' first='Myles' last='Johnson'] is a talented DB from Baker who's making his debut as our #19 DB and #115 overall player in the state.   "Johnson is an intelligent player who finds ways to make an impact whether he's on defense or special teams. He has great instincts, is quick to find the ball, and can make some impressive open-field tackles to eliminate huge plays.   In coverage, Johnson has impressive timing and a reliable set of hands he uses to fly around and break up passes. He's a well-rounded defender teams will have to watch out for in multiple phases of the game."   Johnson was a centerpiece of Baker's defense this past fall and put together some great tape throughout the year. Be sure to check out some of his clips below; he's set up for a big senior season in 2026.      [player_tooltip player_id='1970560' first='Xavier' last='Thomas'] is a talented DB from Opelika who had a breakout season and landed as our #25 DB and #146 player in the state.   "At 6'0 160, Thomas has the size, speed, and instincts to impact the game in several ways. I'm really impressed with his run defense and tackling. He's great at identifying plays, can effortlessly move around the field, and is constantly in a great position to create stops.   On top of that, he's a reliable tackler. He gets low, wraps up, and doesn't allow for any additional yards after making first contact."   I was really impressed with Thomas this past fall. He made a lot of huge stops for Opelika's defense throughout the year. Make sure you check out some of his tape below, you'll be impressed:      [player_tooltip player_id='1799233' first='DeAngelo' last='Williams'] is a talented DB from Mortimer Jordan who's our #27 DB and #149 overall prospect in this update.   "[player_tooltip player_id='1799233' first='DeAngelo' last='Williams']<a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/deangelo-williams/"></a><a></a> is a well-rounded DB who can lock up anyone on the field. He's quick on his feet, has great instincts, and is a ball hawk in coverage that always finds ways to get his hands on the ball.   Williams is just as talented playing against the run. He's quick to react, can cover ground fast, and has the tackling skills to create stops for little to no gain. I'm really impressed with Williams' versatility. He's a smart defender who finds ways to make plays almost every snap- we'll have to watch out for him this fall." [player_tooltip player_id='1618585' first='Alex' last='Bercide'] is a talented DB from Auburn who's coming in as our #29 DB and #158 prospect in the class.   "At 6'1 180, Bercide has the size and frame you want in a DB. He's big, physical, and has the instincts to quickly react in the secondary, leading to stops all around the field.   I'm seriously impressed with how well Bercide plays against the run. He does a great job flying downhill, fighting off blocks, and making impressive plays in pursuit. Bercide is a talented tackler who doesn't allow for big carries on his side of the field- once he initiates contact, it's impossible for RBs to keep on their feet."   Bercide made a bunch of impressive plays last season for Auburn's defense. Be sure to check out some of his clips below!      [player_tooltip player_id='2087856' first='Tristan' last='Hill'] is a physical DB who had a breakout season for Spain Park this past fall, making him our #33 DB and #188 player in the state.   "Hill is a physical corner who thrives on his ball skills and timing. You never want to throw Hill's way- he's a constant threat to pick off and break up passes in coverage, no matter where he is on the field. Hill does a fantastic job timing up and breaking on/underneath passes to punch the ball out, leading to a ridiculous amount of PBUs last year.   Outside of his coverage skills, it's clear Hill is a highly intelligent and physical defender as well. He's always in the right spot to make stops, doesn't shy away from dishing out big hits, and causes fits for any offense going against him."   Hill was an impact player all year long for Spain Park's defense. We all need to watch out for him this next season.
