Elite Training Academy (ETA) wins FSP Invite

This weekend's FSP Invitational at Tahoma High School featured some of the top teams in the Northwest region.   After two days of highly-competitive action, Elite Training Academy (ETA) went 7-0 to bring home the championship trophy.    ETA is led by program director John "J.T." Thompson, alongside offensive coordinator Noah French and defensive coordinator Desean Harrel.    “For us, as far as expectations, it's about paying attention to detail and executing,” Thompson said. “We did what we needed to do to come out on top. It was great for us and our program.”   ETA defeated FSP 35-28 in the championship game with a game-sealing interception from Lake Stevens defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='987638' first='Akio' last='Yonesaka'].    Following the tournament, Thompson gave his thoughts on a few of the players who stand out in his program.   Here's a look at the roster:   QB [player_tooltip player_id='1139323' first='Oliver' last='Setterberg'], Glacier Peak (2028) - Co-Offensive MVP of the tournament   :"Oliver is a rising star with an electric right arm, showcasing the best arm talent in his class. His extreme accuracy consistently allows him to place the ball in the perfect spot, demonstrating impressive anticipation on each throw. Additionally, his top-tier decision-making skills set him apart as a standout quarterback."   QB Nolan Nettles, Lake Stevens (2028)   "A true dual threat who is very accurate and has amazing touch on deep balls. Nolan can play both sides on the ball so he understands the defenses leverage and technique to put his WRs in the best position to make plays after the catch."   WR [player_tooltip player_id='985506' first='Caden' last='Weber'], Eastside Catholic (2027) -- Co-offensive MVP of the tournament   "A shifty wide receiver consistently finds himself open, using his quick footwork and agility to create separation from defenders. With reliable hands, he secures passes effortlessly, making him a go-to target for quarterbacks in all situations."   WR Deuce Wilson, Lake Stevens (2028)   "A twitchy wide receiver possesses explosive agility and quick footwork, allowing him to change direction sharply and leave defenders off-balance. With excellent footwork, he effectively navigates both offensive and defensive roles, showcasing his versatility and instinct for making impactful plays.   ^ Caught the game winning interception in the championship game with less than 1 minute remaining   WR Matthew Kowalski, Glacier Peak (2027)   "A lengthy wide receiver with a notable wingspan and strong hands excels at snatching the ball at its highest point while running crisp, well-timed routes to create separation from defenders. His combination of physicality and finesse allows him to dominate contested catches and stretch the field effectively." His keen ability to read the game, combined with strong leadership qualities, positions him as a pivotal figure in the defense, always around the ball when it matters most." OLB/DB Brenden Keller (Eastside Catholic; 2027)   "An outside linebacker with a knack for finding his way around the ball consistently demonstrates high effort and determination on every play. His exceptional ball skills enable him to break up or intercept passes, making him a dynamic playmaker who can change the course of a game."   ATH Linkin Currie, Arlington (2027)   "A speedy athlete excels on both sides of the ball, using his quickness to evade defenders and create opportunities. With reliable hands, he consistently makes critical catches and plays, making him a versatile threat in both receiving and defensive roles."   DB Ebrima Suso, Mariner (2027)   "A lengthy cornerback dominates in man coverage, using his reach and physicality to get hands-on wide receivers and throw off their timing. His knack for disrupting passes not only neutralizes opposing threats but also allows him to effectively take key receivers out of the game."   ATH Grady Herriman , Bothell (2028)   "A do-it-all athlete thrives on both offense and defense who consistently making impactful plays. With high energy and great effort, he embraces coaching, adapting his skills to meet the demands of any position and contributing significantly to his team's success."
