2027 Rankings Update: Elite Newly Added Linebackers

<p class="text-gray-700">The Crenshaw product is a high upside linebacker with good length and athleticism for the position and can play anywhere at the second level and provides a pass rush off the edge as well. He plays with a quick trigger, moves well in the open field and can quickly get behind the line with active hips and hands to turn the corner. In coverage, he shows he is rangy and run cover man to man downfield and has elite closing speed and excels at making tackles outside in space sideline to sideline. All in all, he has the ideal length, size and speed for the position at the FBS level and should have plenty of suitors coming after him this spring/summer. He shows he can come downhill, take on blocks and scrape over the top while able to quickly knife into the backfield and rush the passer form various angles up front. Spencer is a fluid mover and can quickly change direction, weave through traffic to ball carriers and looks for contact in the hole while showing exceptional range and speed outside the tackles. He shows he can knife inside drive blocks and create havoc when slanting and using his speed/bend around the corner and is very active in the backfield. Overall, he has great size, speed and the frame to keep packing on weight and should fit nicely as a true outside linebacker in college with plus run stopping abilities while also fluid enough in space to turn and run to cover or get into the flats if need be. Lilo is one of the top returners at the position across San Diego and should be drawing plenty of college attention as well. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Samon can play anywhere along the defensive front or at inside linebacker and is a true downhill thumper that can take on blocks, trigger fast inside and packs a punch at the POA while exploding through ball carriers. He is a high IQ kid that can get over the top, takes good angles inside the tackles and can diagnose plays quickly while sniffing out screens/draws with ease. When dropping down to the LOS, he plays with heavy hands and can set the edge, choke out blockers and collapse the pocket with power rush moves in his toolbox.
