We took a deep dive at the latest 2027 rankings as the 2025 season has now come to a close. And whether it's injuries or production, their numbers may not have exactly popped off the page this past year. But after looking at the film, here's a look at 12 players from the latest update who have every opportunity make their mark as we begin to look ahead to 2026.

[player_tooltip player_id='1172343' first='Kyilann' last='Gordon'] | ATH | Baptist Hill

Gordon primarily took snaps at wide receiver in 2025 for the Bobcats. And he made the most of his opportunities from his slot position. He can catch the ball at its highest point and knows what to do once he catches it – get up field as quickly as possible for extra yards. He has good size for the position and when we watched his film, we liked his ability to create separation and win one-on-one battles when they present themselves.

[player_tooltip player_id='1036757' first='Peyton' last='Grant'] | DL | Crestwood

Grant saw action in six games in 2025 for the Knights. He was effective in clogging up the run lanes and not allowing the back to get much going and build momentum. He has excellent size from his defensive tackle spot and he is a handful to try to block one-on-one and has a motor that is running. He doesn't stop until he gets to the ball carrier.

[player_tooltip player_id='1321038' first='Justyn' last='Joint'] | RB/DB | Cheraw

Joint is fun to watch when he gets going in the open field. He has great vision and knows how to find the green grass. He doesn't dance or do anything extra with the ball in his hands – he can make people miss. It's just good north and south running from him. We'll be interested to see him with more carries in 2026 after rushing for 517 yards and six touchdowns in 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='1036756' first='Jordan' last='Bovain'] | ATH | Bamberg Ehrhardt

Bovain could prove to be a viable asset at the receiver position for the Raiders after they completed a 15-0 run state championship in 2025. He could catch a quick pass like a bubble screen and make a guy miss and then it's a 50-yard house call. He has the speed that you want at the position and he runs good routes to go along with it. He practices good ball security without losing his momentum when he runs and gets a head of steam.

[player_tooltip player_id='644030' first='Xavier' last='Geter'] | QB | Midland Valley

Geter (pictured above) may be one of the hidden gems in the CSRA heading into 2026. He is a dynamic, dual threat quarterback who can roll out to his right and find an open receiver while keeping his eyes downfield or be able to keep the ball on a designed keeper for six points. He has a nice velocity on his throws and puts it in a position where only his receiver can get it. He finished the 2025 season with 2124 yards and 20 touchdowns.

[player_tooltip player_id='1426798' first='Cameron' last='McCue'] | DB | Berkeley

McCue is around the ball at all times for the Stags. He can come up in run support and make tackles in the holes. He even made a touchdown saving tackle against Cane Bay, showing his speed and hustle to get to the ball. He is in the right place and can recognize plays quickly which shows his football IQ and ability to be able to react to the plays when they come.

[player_tooltip player_id='1422632' first='Makel' last='Stephens'] | RB | Loris

Stephens has a burst of speed that is fun to watch when he gets going. He runs with full intentions of getting north and south as quickly as possible. He doesn't waste time and dance in space. He can catch the ball out of the backfield and his ability to make a cut and make a defender miss is impressive. He can run people over as arm tackles won't work against him. He led the Lions in rushing for 930 yards and 16 touchdowns.

[player_tooltip player_id='1422580' first='Kaiden' last='Walton'] | DL | Marlboro County

Walton is an aggressive defensive linemen that can make an impact on the game. He uses his hands well to get penetration into the backfield. There were a few times on his film where he overpowered the opposing offensive linemen, putting them on their back and making the sack. If he can't get home, he will keep coming and won't stop until the whistle blows. He could be on pace for a big senior year in 2026.

[player_tooltip player_id='1824148' first='Josh' last='Davis'] | WR | AC Flora

Davis was a consistent threat on the outside at receiver for the Falcons in 2024. He could go up and make the contested catch with his size and ability to go get the ball at its highest point. He has a good release which allows him to get a step on the defender. To be able to make catches in the quick game is also something that is impressive about Davis – he can stick his foot in the ground and turn and get extra yards. We expect he'll be a go to guy in 2026.

[player_tooltip player_id='1422583' first='Khalil' last='Levine'] | LB | Cross

Levine is a sure tackler from his linebacker position and is aggressive at the point of attack. He can fill the alley well and doesn't miss tackles when the opportunities present themselves. He can also line up at running back and hit the hole well and get the tough yardage when his team needs it. That versatility could serve him well heading into 2026 as he looks to make his stamp on his senior year.
