Get 30% off your first billing cycle with code: howe30 in the coupon code area

It's rankings season here at Prep Redzone Iowa. We're underway with updates after dropping the final Class of 2026 rundown Monday on the site.

The process never stops, really. It's a constant pursuit of new names to evaluate.

Today, that takes us to the Iowa 2027 Class. It's an important time for this group of seniors searching for college homes.

Here's a closer look at new evaluations for student-athletes in the cycle:

A college prospect on both sides of the ball, Padgett was a nuisance for opposing offenses trying to keep him from wrecking their plans in 2025. The junior piled up 47.5 tackles, 40 of which were of the solo variety. He registered 9.0 tackles for loss. On the O-Line, he dominated the opponent on a regular basis. We can get a sense of how he gets the job done by viewing his 11th-grade highlights on his Hudl page. Padgett is a handful when operating on the right side of the offensive line. He combines power with athleticism and agility that allows him to operate effectively in tight quarters or out in space. He's explosive off of the snap as a defensive lineman. Strength and active hands help him separate from blocks.

Central Lee has several interesting college prospects on its roster. Cook stands out for his athleticism and speed, which give him positional flexibility on the prep level and also keeps open possibilities for where he would line up on the next level. It led to him producing 426 yards (6.0 YPC) and two touchdowns rushing as a junior in 2025. He threw three scores and delivered a pair of pancake blocks as well. On defense, he racked up 65.5 tackles with 52 of them being solo stops. Cook posted 9.0 tackles for loss, a sack, three interceptions, seven passes defended, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. While he doesn't have an 11th-grade highlight video posted on his Hudl page, Cook has clips from individual games. It's a skill set that creates a path to being a slot receiver or safety in college.

Neighbor gets lost in the shuffle, somewhat, on a Kennedy outfit with next-level prospects throughout the roster. When given an opportunity, however, Neighbor delivered. He's a guy that really could take a step forward as a senior and would be well served to get out on the college camp circuit this summer to get himself more firmly on the recruiting radar. Neighbor caught nine balls for 179 yards and a touchdown in 2025, when he also added 20 yards rushing. He registered eight tackles, six of which were solo. He had a half tackle for loss and forced a fumble, too. He averaged 16.6 yards on seven kick returns. As we witness when watching his 11th-grade highlight video, Neighbor succeeds with speed, athleticism and an ability to make opponents miss. There's also potential there for a future in the secondary as well.

Trying to get noticed in a program stock full of college prospects through all classes can be challenging. It's one that Goodwin has faced but overcome in gaining the attention of coaches on the next level. During his development, Goodwin has flashed potential as a defensive lineman. In 2025, he established himself as a college prospect on the offensive line. When watching Goodwin operate during his junior highlight video, we can see how he's effective in the trenches. He's an athletic and agile left guard, proficient at picking off defenders in space. Goodwin plays with good pad level that helps him hold up well in pass protection and in the run game. His frame is capable of adding good weight and strength, giving him nice upside.

Davis is an under-the-radar prospect with notable upside. Part of his sizable ceiling can be attributed to his combination of height, length, speed and athleticism. His frame can easily add good weight and strength without the loss of his best traits. As a junior in 2025, Davis stood out most for his work as a defensive back. He recorded 14.0 tackles, 11 of which were solo stops. He registered an interception, a fumble recovery and a pass defended. On offense, Davis chipped in with five receptions for 40 yards. During his 11th-grade highlight video, we see potential as a receiver with a large catch radius. Davis is more advanced on defense, however, where he runs well and looks fluid in coverage.

Scott could end up on either side of the ball on the next level. His length, quickness and speed give him a chance as a receiver. He caught 25 balls for 243 yards and four touchdowns as a junior in 2025. His future also could end up being on defense as a member of the secondary. Scott recorded 18.5 tackles with 14 of them being solo stops. He picked off two passes and was credited with a pair of passes defended. We get a look at how he finds success when watching his 11th-grade highlight video. His long arms are an asset on both sides of the ball, helping win 50-50 balls whether he's catching passes or defending them. His projectable frame can add plenty of good weight, giving him nice upside for the future, too.
