Grind 701 Elite 7v7 Tryouts: Standouts, Part 1

FARGO-- Last night we took our scouting talents to Fargo, to see nearly 100 athletes at the Grind 701 Elite tryouts at the state of the art Fargo Parks Sports Center. Over the next couple days, we will put our pen to paper and report on the live evals we were able to watch. As I said last night, the underclassmen talent in the 701 and 218 is in good hands!    Fadil was a wide receiver that caught my attentiond during the both sessions of tryouts in Fargo yesterday. Watching him in the 14U tryout, Fadil was one of the most sizable and athletic targets there was in the wide receiver group and the more reps this young man was given the more you could see his attention to detail pop out as a route-runner. He boosted some of the best hands I saw too within the 14U group and had the vertical to go up and get it during 1v1s and could make his receptions well in high-traffic areas.     Daniel was one of the more undersized wide receivers in the 2030 group, yet boosted well-versed agility for his age in the early reps I saw and later into 1v1s. He showed off as a route-runner that had more depth in his route tree than I had expected to see out of this 8th grader out of Fargo, and showed it off on numerous reps I watched on Sunday night. Going up against bigger competition in 1v1s is where Daniel moved the needle, as he was unphased against bigger defensive backs. He'll be a 2030 prospect I'll be intrigued to watch his development over the coming years.     One my favorite first live evals I caught in the 15U tryout on Sunday night came from West Fargo Sheyenne's Fletcher Bryant. He not only passed the eye test with his size and frame, but showed off great hands during Indy drills on seeing the ball quickly on both sides of the ball and certainly disrupting passing lanes with great intent defensively. He surely looks like one that I need on my 2029 North Dakota radar upcoming for our rankings and has good football pedigree with his brother playing D2 football ac Minnesota State-Moohread and was a top-tier tight end in our rankings.     It's been no secret for us that the Kindred Vikings have an athlete factory brewing over the last several years, and based on the live eval Dresdin Jinadasa might be another one to know in their 2028 class. The reps I saw out of Dresdin showed off a sound football IQ for his age and as I was impressed with not only his hands but his route-running ability on intermediate and deep routes. No tape as of yet, but surely an athlete out of Kindred I am glad I got on my 2028 North Dakota radar yesterday.     There was not a 2028 athlete in the building that I was more impressed with in than what I saw out of [player_tooltip player_id='1757131' first='Jaxon' last='Lewis'] of Fargo South. In every 1v1 rep I watched him have, he caught anything and everything that came his way especially in his wide receivers reps I got to watch on Sunday night on intermediate and especially deep routes. He was just as persistent as a defensive back as well, as he brought the ideal physicality in pass coverage and impressed me with his overall football IQ as a 2028 prospect. He surely looks like one of the best athletes in this 2028 class in North Dakota and plays way above what his measurables show off at the moment.
