The Class 6 state championship game was one of the most exciting and close ones in recent memory, as the Lee's Summit Tigers pulled out a 41-37 win to become the 2025 state champs. Here is a look at some of the standouts from the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2004012' first='Preston' last='Hatfield'], RB 2026 Lee's Summit
- 5'9" 175 - Ran the ball 33 times for a championship game record of 457 yards and 4 touchdowns. The speedy Hatfield really put on a show weaving his way through defenders and then hitting the jets on his way to the end zone four times to lead his team to victory. He also competed 5 of 6 pass attempts for 37 yards when his team needed to throw the ball, which wasn't often.

[player_tooltip player_id='1590205' first='Drew' last='Benassi'], LB 2027 Lee's Summit
- 6'3" 215 - Recorded 14 total tackles and a sack. The big, athletic linebacker had a tremendous year recording over 140 tackles during the season, and saved one of his best for last. Benassi can cover a lot of ground in a hurry from sideline to sideline, be a hammer against the run or rush the quarterback. Look for him to rise on the recruiting board of college teams in the offseason.

[player_tooltip player_id='1667951' first='Will' last='Seiler'], OT 2027 Lee's Summit
- 6'6" 290 - The big offensive tackle has anchored the O-line during their 10-0 run and state championship run. Seiler is not only big, but he is quick and powerful with his blocking ability and really finishes well. He's athletic enough to get downfield and help extend plays. He's another player who will continue to rise in the recruiting circles following his outstanding junior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1587352' first='Adam' last='McKnight'], QB 2027 Nixa
- 6'4" 205 - Threw for 4 touchdowns on 11 of 14 passing for 183 yards and also ran for 87 yards and another touchdown on 17 carries. The big-time junior quarterback prospect is a dual threat with his speed and athletic ability. While he threw for over 1,800 yards this season he is capable of putting up much bigger numbers with his arm and skills he possesses. He already holds and offer from Missouri State and should really catch the attention of more D1 schools in the offseason,

[player_tooltip player_id='1129733' first='Randy' last='Flint'], WR 2026 Nixa
- 6'0" 174 - 8 receptions for 114 yards and 2 touchdowns on offense. 8 total tackles on defense. One of the most talented two-way players in the state in 2025. Flint was a high level defensive back prospect in my opinion the past two seasons, and this season he added being a big play receiver for the Eagles, with his track speed and ball skills being utilized and making him a big play threat every time he was targeted. It didn't deter his defensive play in the least. Look for his to continue to elevate his play and keep moving up in college.

[player_tooltip player_id='849700' first='Jayden' last='McCaster'], RB 2026 Nixa
- 5'8" 190 -22 carries for 86 yards. Stopping the Southern Illinois signee seemed to be the main focus of the Tigers game plan to slow the Eagles offense, and while they kept him in check compared to some of his game earlier in the year, he still managed to fight for ever yard in his attempts he did have and finished strong in opening the passing game for his team.
