SPARTANBURG | Saturday's 89th Shrine Bowl provided us an opportunity to see the best of the Class of 2026 in the Palmetto State one last time, and here's some of our notes from what we saw, as the defense took center stage, and the offense made plays when they needed to.

Chester LB [player_tooltip player_id='816734' first='Terry' last='Radford'] (pictured above) was active up front and involved in many of the run plays in defeating blocks. He finished the game with a team high 11 total tackles.

“It means everything to be a part of this talent and I can come out here and play with the best and fit in. (The key was) just being fast, physical and relentless,” Radford told Prep Redzone SC after the game.

Orangeburg-Wilkerson LB [player_tooltip player_id='1126113' first='Jordan' last='Avinger'] made a good tackle in defeating the block against the slow mesh in the first quarter, down near the goal line.

West Florence DL [player_tooltip player_id='617662' first='Jamie' last='Williamson'] did an excellent job setting the edge against a lot of the runs that North Carolina tried, particularly in the first half. Bamberg-Ehrhardt LB [player_tooltip player_id='1196428' first='Jalen' last='McGraw'] went airborne to bat the ball down in the second quarter.

Dorman and Clemson signee DB [player_tooltip player_id='402497' first='Kentavion' last='Anderson'] got inside of the receiver and made an excellent pass breakup on the RPO with 9:30 to play before the half. He was all over the place in making plays in the secondary. He hustled on the punt coverage to prevent a return with 5:59 to play in the third quarter. He finished with five tackles on the afternoon.

“This is just a special game. I looked up to this game when I was in the 9th grade, and I was going to be in this game so I just prayed on and I came out here and did my job. It's just big playing with other guys that's ranked with me and guys that should be ranked with me, so the team bonding is a good thing for us. And we just bonded together and just came out here and got the win,” Anderson told Prep Redzone SC after the game.

Gaffney QB [player_tooltip player_id='1403906' first='Banks' last='Bouton'] connected with AC Flora WR [player_tooltip player_id='591391' first='Blake' last='Betette'] on a completion down to the North Carolina 25, setting up a South Carolina field goal. He finished with two catches for 36 yards.

Ridge View DB [player_tooltip player_id='1267280' first='Jordyn' last='Best'] came close to an interception on the first play of a series in the second quarter, and came just short of it, but came back for an interception with 3:46 to play before the half. Northwestern's [player_tooltip player_id='1267334' first='Kameron' last='Vance'] made the most of his opportunities, particularly in the punt return game, showing his shiftiness in space.
