This past weekend was full of explosive offenses, stout defenses, and big wins or heartbreaking losses. While the winners go onto the next round, I wanted to take some time to dive into the standouts of the losing teams. They all have bright futures ahead of them, and I'm excited to see what they have in store either next season, whether in college or high school. Let's dive into it.

We have our Stock Up Showcase event on December 13th! It's a great way to gain extra exposure as a prospect, and gain valuable measurables. If you interested, click this link to sign up and use code TateWinterPRZ at checkout for $10 off. I will be in attendance evaluating prospects, and I hope to see you there !

Ellison is the definition of shifty and creating plays out of the pocket. All day long against Cherry Creek, he showed off his athletic ability. He is that guy. He threw for 367 yards on 25/43 with 58.1% completion rate with 2 TDs and 1 INT. Ellison has an uncanny ability to move in the pocket. He'll run around all day making defenders miss with his athleticism. Very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, speed, change of direction, and balance. Very good throw power and accuracy. He bombed it downfield into a small pocket to Toray and made the catch. Very good ball placement skills. Ellison has very good throw on the run and very good off-platform throws. I was thoroughly impressed with his play against the top defense in the state.

Payne was another standout in Monarch's lost to Montrose. The 5'11 165-pound running back had 14 carries for 97 yards and 1 touchdown. Payne has very good athletic ability due to very good speed, change of direction, balance, and good acceleration. He's an elusive bruiser. Very good vision to weave or power through the defense. Very explosive jump cuts to pivot into an open gap, if one is covered. Very good inside running and good outside. Payne consistently gets yards after contact due to his balance. He bounces off defenders or they slip off him. Great performance by the young running back.

Tharp had a great last high school game. The 5'11 160-pound wideout had 9 receptions for 138 yards, 2 carries for 17 yards and 1 touchdown. Tharp has very good athletic ability due to very good speed, acceleration, balance, good jumping, and change of direction. Good release at the line of scrimmage. Very good separation quickness due to his athletic ability. One play that stood out to me was when he slips and falls during the route. He readjusts and made the catch and big the play. Very good catching and ball tracking skills. Good yards after the catch with his juke move and out running the defenders. I was very impressed with his performance against Montrose.

Lucero had a great night in the loss to Palisade. The 6'4 180-pound WR/CB had 5 receptions for 105 yards with 2 touchdowns, and 2 total tackles. Lucero has good athletic ability due to very good speed, jumping, good acceleration, and change of direction. Lucero has good release at the line of scrimmage. Very good separation quickness due to out running the defender or finding an open void to exploit. Very good ball tracking and catching skills. Good body control and adjustment. Lucero will turn on the jets with the ball in his hands, and make defenders miss with his juke moves or powerful stiff arm. Great performance by the junior.

Bordeaux had a monster game against Valor, especially in on the ground. The 6'2 205-pound quarterback went 18/304 for 204 yards, 52.9% completion rate, 2 TDs, 1 INT, 15 carries for 232 yards and 2 touchdowns. He has very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, speed, good change of direction, and balance. Bordeaux used his very good throw power with his quick release to find targets downfield all day long. On the ground, he uses his explosive quick start and very good vision to weave through the defense. Bordeaux stayed poised under pressure. He'd evade it in the pocket, or he'd use his very good scramble ability to escape. Very good accuracy and very good throw on the run. He recently decommitted from Boston College, and I'm excited to see where this talented athlete goes next !
