Oregon 6A Playoff Predictions + Point Spreads

PLEASE NOTE: The rankings used below are obviously NOT from the OSAA. You will see rankings listed according to how we have had the top 15 teams ranked all year up until this point.    Round 1 predictions with point spreads will be followed by quarterfinal, semifinal, and state title picks. Have a look..          NR Roosevelt (6-3) @ #1 West Linn (9-0)   Spread: -51 WL Prediction: Head coach Ryan McCants has done a phenomenal job at Roosevelt, but it's pointless for the PIL to be playing a 6A schedule if they ever want to make a run in the playoffs. West Linn will likely be up by 50 at half and then call off the dogs.     West Linn 58 Roosevelt 0       #7 Tualatin (6-3) @ #8 Jesuit (7-2)   Spread: -4.5 Tual Prediction: Tualatin beat the Crusaders 13-7 to open the year in a game where neither team played particularly well. Jesuit has all everything 3* athlete [player_tooltip player_id='770006' first='Joe' last='Stimpson'] back from injury, to go with Jr. RB [player_tooltip player_id='1591586' first='Luke' last='Ortner']. That said, as the T-Wolves are battle tested with their TRL schedule. I will take them to win a close one that's decided in the last few minutes but not cover the spread.    Tualatin 26 Jesuit 24       #12 Newberg (5-4) @ #5 Central Catholic (7-2)   Spread: -18 CC Prediction: Newberg has fallen off a little bit as the year has progressed after losing to #3 Nelson 17-14 and playing well against #2 Lake O to start the season. CC got smacked by Nelson 26-6 a few weeks back but will likely cover the spread here.    Central Catholic 37 Newberg 14       #9 Mountainside (6-3) @ #6 Willamette (9-0)   Spread: Even Prediction: Maybe the game of the week. Willamette is undefeated with a bunch of D1 guys on their roster, but they don't have a single win against a top 10 team on the year. Mountainside on the other hand played a relatively tough schedule with losses to #3 Nelson, #4 Lakeridge, and #8 Jesuit. POY candidate [player_tooltip player_id='1232699' first='Cade' last='Mitchell'] and WR [player_tooltip player_id='1566148' first='Sean' last='Gerigk'] have torn up opponents all season. If I'm the Wolverines I make somebody else beat me other than that duo.    Mountainside 27 Willamette 26       NR Sprague (5-4) @ #2 Lake Oswego (8-1)   Spread: LO-44.5 Prediction: The Lakers were super impressive in last week's 35-14 win over #4 Lakeridge. They have the easiest path of any program to the state semifinals. Overall, the Oly's have played well this year, but this should be over by half.    Lake Oswego 59 Sprague 7       NR Grants Pass (6-3) @ #10 Sherwood (7-2)   Spread: SHER -5 Prediction: GP has continued to play better each week led by junior's [player_tooltip player_id='796694' first='Jordan' last='Rossetta'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1560665' first='Brevik' last='Hill']. They beat a decent West Salem team 31-28 last week to get into the playoffs. Give credit to Sherwood as a program as they once again figured out a way to win the Pacific Conference, even without a star-studded roster. The Bowmen have played the likes of West Linn and Tualatin which I think will pay off here.    Sherwood 34 Grants Pass 23       #4 Lakeridge (5-4) @ #11 Glencoe (8-1)   Spread: LAK-20 Prediction: I can't say enough good things about Coach Ian Reynoso and Glencoe in general. RB [player_tooltip player_id='1232743' first='Daniel' last='Heninger'] is listed among the top backs in the nation statistically as they were 2 points away from a perfect regular season, losing to Sherwood 12-10. That being said, Lakeridge is a completely different animal, beating the likes of Tualatin 45-10 and hanging around with #1 West Linn before losing 30-20. I would guess that Heninger is going to receive more attention than he's ever wanted and find it tough to get going. As referenced numerous times it's now or never for the Pacers.    Lakeridge 42 Glencoe 16       NR West Salem (6-3) @ #3 Nelson (8-1)    Spread: NELS -31 Prediction: Nelson's storybook season will continue after quality wins over #4 Lakeridge, #9 Mountainside, and the dominant 26-6 performance over #5 Central Catholic a few weeks ago. West Salem has had a good year, and I think Coach Shawn Stanley deserves to be in the Oregon HS Hall of Fame, but the 31-28 loss to GP last week puts this game into perspective.    Nelson 50 West Salem 17           QUARTERFINALS    Tualatin @ West Linn   Mountainside @ Central Catholic   Sherwood @ Lake Oswego   Lakeridge @ Nelson         SEMIFINALS   14 Central Catholic @ West Linn 42   28 Lakeridge @ Lake Oswego 30         STATE CHAMPIONSHIP   West Linn 35 Lake Oswego 30
