The state of Georgia will bring us a lot of different matchups for the second round of playoffs, as the state has a lot to offer when it comes to this next round. A fresh round means fresh matchups, and there are some that you simply don't want to miss. With that being said, one of the biggest toss-up divisions in the state remains to be the 2A division.

There are many games that need to be watched, but some more than others. The matchups are undeniable, and here are five that I believe people should watch, along with a player who fans should know ahead of game day.

No. 9 Sumter County vs. No. 8 North Murray

This game will be one of the main games that I will personally pay attention to. I have North Murray as a dark horse in this game. That being due to their ability to score through their best player. However, the performance from Sumter County needs to be discussed. They walked away with a convincing 42-7 victory, which has them down as one of the major winners in the first round, while the Mountaineers struggled in most of their game. They will be the favorites entering the contest, but this will be one to pay attention to down in Chatsworth, Georgia.

If you thought the player to watch would be anyone else, you are simply wrong. Hulett is one of the top players in the state of Georgia if you go off his senior season. He is a versatile athlete who can be a game-changer in any game. He has been described as a "dawg" by players who have played him in the past due to his ability to score. When 7 is on the field, make sure you watch out. He has a case for player of the year for a reason.

No. 16 Pierce County vs. No. 1 Carver (Atlanta)

This is a game that I am very excited for. I believed the Ringgold Tigers would be the team to advance and play this game, but that wasn't the case. In fact, I ate crow. That being as, Pierce County won the game 45-7. This team is extremely tough, but their game against Carver will be one to note, as this Carver team is fresh off a near 70-point showing. They walked away with a 69-3 win against Butler, which is impressive. Carver is the favorite to win the state title, but the Pierce County program will look to play spoiler in this one.

Favors is a star. The Boise State commit has track speed and is someone who can break you in an instant. That is because he is someone who continues to grow in his role with this team. His speed showed in the Carver vs Butler game, and it will likely show again in this one. Pierce County will have to stop the speedster, who also has a chance to become one of the top players in the state when it is all over.

No. 19 Stephens County vs. No. 3 Carver

This game is very interesting. It is interesting because of the fact that Stephens County pulled off an upset against a team I was confident they would fall short against. That team being Crisp County. Crisp County was solid this season and was a true Cinderella run in the eyes of many. They could hit a roadblock in this next game against Carver, but they also could continue their success. Stephens County is one of the top teams in many areas, but this very well could be their toughest game in their way. I expect Carver to be the overwhelming favorite, but even then, anything is possible.

One of the better players in his class as a whole, and this will show come game day. They are one of the top teams in the state, and that is because of their overachieving success rate with the backs. He is near the top of the rotation and is someone who can change the outcome of the game in the blink of an eye. He has the opportunity to hit a new stride in this game, as they chase a state title in the big 2025.

No. 18 Laney vs. No. 2 Rockmart

This game will be viewed as one that could be very offensive. Rockmart defeated South Atlanta in the first round after putting together a 50-20 outcome. On the flipside, Laney defeated a team that I believed could make it to this round on a good day. That team being LFO, who has some star power, such as [player_tooltip player_id='1776960' first='Jared' last='Mitchell']. This game will be one to talk about in the lead-up, as this is one for the fans of offense to watch. Rockmart will be the overwhelming favorite, and I could make a case that it is absolutely deserved. This team could go all the way, but first, they have to get past a nagging system that could make things interesting.

One of my favorite players in the state, because of his aggressive nature. He is going to be a top offensive lineman in the class of 2027, but that will be because of his size and his solid traits. He is someone who has protected the QB very well in his career. Easily someone who can help slow the game down for the Rockmart program, which can ultimately lead to some success.

No. 11 Callaway vs. No. 6 Thomson

This is a game that I truly believe is a toss-up. I like both teams a lot, and both teams are excellent. I am excited for this game because of their matchups. I believe that Callaway is one of the more intriguing teams that has a ranking lower than 10. That being because of their true talent on both sides of the football. As for Thomson, they walked away with a win, but it was a close one against Jackson. A team that they were big favorites against. I believe Callaway could even be the favorite in this game, which makes this contest very interesting.

Reeves is a very talented running back who has a great burst. He has been one who has flew under the radar for quite some time, and because of that he has been quietly having a solid season. He is someone that I believe can have a huge game in this one, because if he is at his best, he will be hard to stop.
