District Season Finale: Nacogdoches vs. Texas High

<p>It's been a journey of a year statewide, and the regular season comes to an end tonight. With great district showdowns across the state, don't look past an East Texas matchup between two playoff squads. The Texas High Tigers will play host to the Nacogdoches Dragons in a premiere FNL battle. With either roster littered with college-level talent, let's take a look at three impact players from each side ahead of tonight's matchup.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Nacogdoches</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Bringing a rare and electric combination of contested catch and after the catch abilities, Lockett boasts a large frame and explosive change of direction. After a strong junior season, the Dragons' wideout has broken out as a true superstar this season, averaging a ridiculous 150 yards per game. With dynamic footwork, great athleticism, and polished ball skills, Micah is a QB's dream target at all levels of the field. Lockett has stacked up nearly 1,500 total yards and 12 TDs this season. Don't be surprised if he lights up the field in his final career regular season game tonight. Micah holds an offer from SFA.</p>      <p class="text-gray-700">Caden is a defensive tackle who has dual residency in opposing offenses' backfields. He is violent and powerful at the point of attack with an explosive get-off and heavy hands into the chest of linemen. For a big fella, Caden also showcases some legit twitchiness, bend, and quickness when making plays around and behind the line of scrimmage. He possesses the skillset and athleticism of an outside linebacker, but with the size and strength of zero-tech defensive lineman. Caden has been straight up dominant this season, totaling 61 tackles, a ridiculous 33 TFLs, and 11.5 sacks. Watch out for the Dragons ' big man in the trenches tonight. He is sure to add to his offer from UTSA.</p>      <p class="text-gray-700">A tackle machine who plays to the size of any matchup, Sherrard demonstrates great instincts, field awareness, and downhill tackling ability. The Dragons' green dot backer displays a very polished play style, maintaining great footwork, pad level, and tackle technique. Landon thrives at redirecting and collecting himself to setup the perfect angle for finishing ball carriers into the ground. As consistent of a defensive player as you're going to find, Sherrard leads the entire state in tackles with an obscure 147 on the season, along with 31 TFLs, 3 sacks, and an INT. Coming off of a 21-tackle performance last week, watch out for #8 all night tonight.</p>     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Texas High</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">One of the best junior offensive linemen in the entire nation, "Qua" holds down the left tackle position, leading an elite Tigers' rushing attack. Ford showcases a dynamic combination of agility and sheer power. Not to mention he already carries the frame of a Power 4 starting LT. He thrives in both zone and gap scheme runs, always establishing leverage at the point of attack while maintaining a technical and powerful anchor. Ford is a pancake machine and will look to continue opening lanes and protecting his QB's blindside tonight. As a ball carrier, Tradarian showcases elite athleticism, explosive speed at all levels, and ridiculous contact balance. He excels at running through initial contact and then demonstrating his dynamic lateral change of direction and vertical cut ability. Ball has already totaled over 1,000 scrimmage yards this season along with 13 TDs. Hall is ball hawk in the deep part of the field, filling the role of a deep safety with short-area quickness and great ball skills. He excels at anticipating and timing throws, reading QBs like first grade English. In the run game, Markus thrives at not overstepping and putting himself in position to blow up plays around the line of scrimmage and out to the sideline. An all-around defensive playmaker, don't be surprised when Hall makes a big play tonight.
