All Northwest Defense- 1st and 2nd Team

If you are anywhere on this list you are likely a 1st team all-state athlete in Oregon at the 6A/5A level or Washington in 4A/3A. It's a tough team to make incorporating both states.          The All-Northwest Team isn't a recruiting-based list although many of the individuals mentioned are 3 and 4* athletes with multiple division 1 offers. Selections were determined based on a combination of team success and individual performance.         Instead of adding 3rd team and honorable mention picks, there are additional 1st and 2nd team selections. Athletes will only be listed on one side of the ball. Have a look..           ** Denotes Conference POY (some have not been announced)           SUMMARY: The 2026 D line group is one of the best to ever come out of the Northwest. Numerous conference POY's are featured with O'Dea repping one of the best up-front groups in the country, led by Stanford commit [player_tooltip player_id='402788' first='David' last='Schwerzel'], and Metro Players of the Year [player_tooltip player_id='284217' first='FA' last='Siale'] who is committed to Michigan St and [player_tooltip player_id='1354431' first='Jeremiah' last='Nonu'] who is headed to Nevada.    The state's #1 recruit [player_tooltip player_id='402789' first='Derek' last='Colman-Brusa'] not surprisingly was the NPSL POY, with interior standout [player_tooltip player_id='1589347' first='Brady' last='Knowlton'] of Chiawana being named the MCC lineman of the year and a 1st team selection on both sides of the ball.    Oregon top recruits [player_tooltip player_id='739439' first='Tony' last='Cumberland'] and [player_tooltip player_id='769915' first='Noah' last='Tishendorf'] both had phenomenal seasons. The Ducks commit Cumberland didn't disappoint and showed up big for the Wolverines who had an undefeated regular season before losing a close one in the state quarterfinals to Central Catholic. Tishendorf put together one of the best careers of any D end in state history at Lakeridge.    Two other defensive standouts on the line to make note of include [player_tooltip player_id='1969812' first='Keegan' last='Brown'] of Lake Stevens who has statistically been elite with 8 sacks and 24 tackles for loss thus far, and [player_tooltip player_id='584671' first='Julius' last='Hernandez-Avila'] of GK who has been exceptional with 60 tackles and a team leading 3 sacks. Both individuals have their teams in title contention.    If I'm giving a player of the year award right now for the entire state, it's going to junior LB [player_tooltip player_id='1188110' first='Michael' last='Pulalasi'] of Puyallup. Tracy Ford said it well the other day, "He's a bad man." Fellow junior [player_tooltip player_id='791149' first='Kawai' last='Chamberlin'] of Willamette in Oregon has numerous D1 offers and has one of the fastest rising stocks in the region.    Stanford commit [player_tooltip player_id='402799' first='Wassie' last='Lugolobi'] was the Metro League Defensive POY and 3* [player_tooltip player_id='1655930' first='Ramzak' last='Fruean'] has some of the best film anywhere. His de-commitment from UCLA is potentially big for the Huskies and others.    Finishing out the LB spot, don't sleep on [player_tooltip player_id='1368341' first='Derick' last='Manibusan'] of Graham Kapowsin with the junior continuing to put up outstanding numbers. Collegiately someone is going to get a steal with Richland's [player_tooltip player_id='1691667' first='Sylen' last='Kiesel-Kauhane'].    Speaking on the DB's [player_tooltip player_id='632957' first='Josiah' last='Molden'] is one of the top players in America on the state's #1 team so he probably should have been the TRL POY on D. Lake O's [player_tooltip player_id='1234612' first='Jalen' last='Bauman'] returns after a 1st team all-state season last year and more than looked the part.    Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='984781' first='Markel' last='Newell'] is ranked one of the state's top 3 recruits for his class and is one of the reasons Puyallup has been so dominant, currently sitting with 40 tackles and 4 TFL's. Conference POY [player_tooltip player_id='726148' first='Zamarie' last='Tellez'] has some of the most impressive film in the NW.    Two other all-purpose guys who are unquestioned 1st team all-state athletes include [player_tooltip player_id='1585700' first='Cole' last='Thomas'] of Central Catholic in Oregon and [player_tooltip player_id='1589218' first='Jack' last='Pierce'] of Gonzaga Prep in Washington.
