As there are only a few weeks left in the 2025 high school football season, we still have plenty of key games that will certainly share the spotlight.

With district titles still up for grabs with the playoffs getting closer, you can expect that some of the best contests will take place each week until the end of the season.

As we do every week, shining the spotlight on the top games continues to put the state of Florida in the news cycle.

Here are 10 games to keep an eye on this week:

NFL Academy (0-4) at No. 1 Bradenton IMG Academy (6-0). On the surface this is a mismatch with the Ascenders loaded with talent, but if this team come to play like they did against Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas, things may get a bit more interesting, but the talent level is much different here.

Miami Palmetto (6-2) at No. 3 Miami Northwestern (6-1). Part of the Greater Miami Athletic Conference Week matchup that will give the Bulls their final real test before another anticipated matchup with rival Miami Central in the state playoffs. The Bulls are loaded and for any team in this state to beat them it will take a monumental effort. The Panthers are just looking to make a splash in the 7A state playoffs.

No. 8 Miami Southridge (8-0) at No. 7 Miami Central (6-1). This is a Saturday evening contest that puts two teams in the spotlight as part of the GMAC Week event. The Spartans believe that they have the best team in 6A – while the Rockets have just one hurdle in winning a state title – Miami Northwestern in the state playoffs.

Orlando Dr. Phillips (6-1) at No. 9 Orlando Edgewater (8-0). Interesting matchup here with the Panthers who have been on a roll since being soundly beaten by Fort Lauderdale Dillard in the season opener – while the Eagles have been rolling along and are one of the favorites in 5A. Edgewater has so much talent and believe they can get to the state title game.

No. 10 Vero Beach (7-0) at Pahokee (6-1). Now, this is a very interesting game with a 7A power in the Indians, who have had one of their best seasons in recent history, against a very talented, but smaller Blue Devil squad. Even though this expected to be competitive, a Pahokee win would be a huge upset, but this is Florida – and anything can happen.

No. 11 West Boca Raton (6-1) at West Palm Beach Cardinal Newman (5-2). Another of those quality matchups with two solid teams. Are the 1A Crusaders ready for what the defending 6A state champions bring to the table. While their schedule may not have been the toughest, the Bulls; defense is easily one of the best in the state and will not give up a lot of points.

Venice (4-3) at No. 24 Clearwater Central Catholic (7-1). Last year, this was a close game between these two powers, but the Indians are a deeper and larger program, playing at the 7A level and have truly played a competitive schedule like always. The Marauders have been an elite 1A school for years – and truthfully have but one game that will matter this season – perennial powerhouse Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna.

Springfield The St. James Performance Academy, Virginia (6-0) at No. 26 Orlando The First Academy (4-3). The Royals have played easily one of the most challenging schedules in the state – and while they continue to compete and play hard against elite competition – this is another game that will be a major obstacle against a Strivers team that has had some major wins this year against top-flight competition and are averaging over 40 points per game. It should be entertaining.

Ruskin Lennard (7-0) at Parrish Community (6-1). This has really been a tremendous season for the Longhorns as they make a push to be one of the top 6A teams in the state. But this matchup will not be easy against a Bulls team that needs this game to stay in the state playoff race. With Palmetto coming up next week, this is a must game for Lennard!

The Villages Charter (8-0) at Cocoa (2-4). Now this is one of those games where we will find out a lot about both teams. We already know that the three-time defending 2A state champion Tigers have struggled this year and are facing a very rare losing season, but they still have talent. The Buffalo hit the road with a team that overwhelmed their opponents to the tune of 359-60. Statement game for both programs.
