The month of October is winding to a close, meaning it is time to take a look at the top Prep Redzone stories of the past few weeks.

Jordan Johnson and Andrew Nemec compiled a midseason all-state team for the state of Oregon, consisting of top prospects, breakout athletes and sleepers from around the state.

The Midseason All-State Offense and Defense is done in collaboration with Jordan Johnson. This is not just a recruiting-based list, although most of the individuals listed are ranked among the top athletes in their respective regions.

As with most all-state lists, team success is a heavy factor in whether or not an individual is selected.

*Please note there will be extended 1st & 2nd team selections in lieu of 3rd team or honorable mention picks.

Where's the apology form?

I'll sign it. I promise.

I'll even check the box - this time - that says, "doesn't know ball."

I picked the 4-3 Lakeridge Pacers to win the 6A state title and gave the Lake Oswego Lakers a 3-point win in my predictions this week in the much-anticipated match-up between them and the West Linn Lions.

Instead, West Linn throttled Lake Oswego 38-16, dismantling the Lakers as completely as the Lions tore apart any argument that they aren't the best team in the state. Coming into Jon Eagle's final season,

West Linn had to replace 11 first-team all-league performers and was breaking in a new quarterback, junior [player_tooltip player_id='937233' first='Sloan' last='Baker'].

But West Linn doesn't rebuild. They just reload.

Historically, the state of Washington has dominated head-to-head match-ups against the state of Oregon on the high school football field.

But lately, Oregon has flipped the script - with several marquee wins.

Does that mean the best team in the Northwest comes from Oregon now, or has a Washington team overtaken them?

Jordan Johnson conducted a deep dive on the top teams in the Pacific Northwest.

There are college at every level of college football in the Northwest region, and every school has its own unique set of circumstances.

So, who are the best program at recruiting the region? What is the pecking order?

Unsurprisingly, Power 4 programs Oregon and Washington top the list, but there are some FBS school and lower-level programs who outperform their status.
