As Week 9 of the 2025 high school football season came to an end, there were several elite teams – in all classes – that continued to do their thing as we head toward the state playoffs in two weeks.

While an eye is on all classifications across the state – with defending champions still very much in play – there is one class (6A) that may have more programs still in play for a state title than any other – from top to bottom.

After last week – when two of the favorites in the class lost – there is still plenty of focus that everyone will continue to watch in the coming weeks.

Defending state champion West Boca Raton (6-2) lost to 1A West Palm Beach Cardinal Newman – while Miami Southridge (8-1) dropped a Greater Miami Athletic Conference (GMAC) title contest to state power Miami Central late in the fourth quarter.

There is no getting around the fact that the Bulls and Spartans are still going to be tough to beat, they both have plenty of company.

Among the other 6A programs that still figure in the mix include No. 5 Seffner Armwood (8-0) and No. 20 Gainesville Buchholz (7-1) – as well as unranked Cantonment Tate (6-2), Groveland South Lake (7-1), Jacksonville Mandarin (7-1), Kissimmee Osceola (6-2), Orange Park Oakleaf (8-1), Orlando Evans (7-1), Pace (7-1), Parrish Community (7-1), Ruskin Lennard (7-1) and West Broward (7-2).

SOME MORE OUTSTANDING PERFORMERS
