Entering Week 11 of the regular season, here's our playoff scenario and predictions for each classification in New Mexico. These scenarios are based on known results through Week 10 and predicted outcomes in Week 11.

The teams listed in each category are in alphabetical order

CLASS 6A

Top Four Seeds (4): Cleveland, Hobbs, Las Cruces, Centennial

Definitely In (5): La Cueva, Rio Rancho, Volcano Vista, Piedra Vista, Carlsbad

Probably In (2): Cibola, Los Lunas

On The Bubble (3): Alamogordo, Eldorado, Sandia

Probably Out (2): Albuquerque High, Clovis

Definitely Out (5): Atrisco Heritage, Farmington, Organ Mountain, Santa Fe, West Mesa

Analysis: The top four seeds, especially the No. 4 seed, is still in flux. A Centennial loss to Las Cruces combined with victories by Volcano Vista (at Cibola) and/or Rio Rancho (vs. Cleveland) could change things. Eleven of the 12 teams appear set. The final spot appears to be up for grabs between Alamogordo, Eldorado and Sandia. All three teams face must-win situations in Week 11. Alamogordo plays at Clovis in a playoff elimination game (Clovis is No. 13 in the MaxPreps rankings), Eldorado hosts Atrisco Heritage and Sandia faces Los Lunas.

CLASS 5A

Top Four Seeds (4): Artesia, Goddard, Lovington, Roswell

Definitely In (4): Gadsden, Los Alamos, Belen, Highland

Probably In (1): Mayfield

On The Bubble (4): Deming, Miyamura, Valley, Capital

Probably Out (0): None

Definitely Out (3): Del Norte, Rio Grande, Santa Teresa.

Analysis: As we mentioned last week, Class 5A only has 16 schools and 12 get into the playoffs. Artesia and Roswell will be the top two seeds. Artesia will be the No. 1 seed based on their victory over the Coyotes in Week 9 at the Wool Bowl. The key question for the Selection Committee is whether Los Alamos should jump Goddard and claim the No. 4 seed if the Hilltoppers beat Miyamura and Goddard loses to Roswell. My guess? Probably not given Goddard's superior strength of schedule. Four teams are battling for three spots. The sixth-place finisher in District 5A-1 will likely be the team left out. Capital jumps up to the ‘In The Bubble' category after prevailing in a must-win Week 10 game against Highland. The Jaguars must beat Belen on the road in Week 11 to get in.

CLASS 4A

Top Four Seeds (4): Albuquerque Academy, Bloomfield, Grants, St. Pius X

Definitely In (4): Bernalillo, Chaparral, Silver, Taos

Probably In (2): Manzano, Moriarty

On The Bubble (3): Espanola Valley, Portales, Valencia

Probably Out: None

Definitely Out (2): Aztec, Kirtland Central

Analysis: As we mentioned, 12 of the 15 teams in Class 4A get into the playoffs, and we already know two of the teams that won't get in. Unless Grants pulls off the upset at Bloomfield, the Bobcats will be the No. 1 seed with St. Pius X the likely No. 2 seed. Grants jumped into the top four by virtue of the Pirates' impressive victory over Bernalillo. Albuquerque Academy got back on the winning track with a nice road victory at Portales. Three teams are battling for the final two spots: Espanola Valley, Portales and Valencia. Lose in Week 11 and you risk being left out of the postseason.

CLASS 3A

Top Four Seeds (4): Dexter, Hope Christian, St. Michael's, West Las Vegas

Definitely In (5): NMMI, Hatch Valley, Robertson, Pojoaque Valley, Thoreau

Probably In (2): Ruidoso, Hot Springs

On The Bubble (3): Wingate, Gallup, Tohatchi

Probably Out (1): Crownpoint

Definitely Out (4): Cobre, Shiprock, Socorro, Zuni.

Analysis: Last week's question still applies: Can anybody beat St. Michael's? Right now, Dexter might be the lone team capable of doing that. The Horsemen and Demons could be headed for a 3A championship game rematch. Hope Christian jumped into the top four with last week's impressive road win at West Las Vegas. Robertson's best hope for securing a top four seed is ending St. Michael's 30-game winning streak on Saturday. Thoreau earned the automatic bid from District 3A-1 with last week's thunderous win over Wingate. Pojoaque Valley was trounced by St. Michael's in Week 10 but the Elks are in position to earn a coveted first-round home game. Wingate, Tohatchi and Gallup are battling for the final playoff spot.

CLASS 2A

Top Four Seeds (4): Eunice, Legacy Academy, Santa Rosa, Texico

Definitely In (4): Jal, Loving, Raton, Hozho Academy

Probably In (2): Estancia, Tucumcari

On The Bubble (3): Tularosa, McCurdy, Navajo Prep

Probably Out (1): Laguna Acoma

Definitely Out (3): Capitan, Cuba, Newcomb

Analysis: As we said last week, the top four teams in 2A are well established – Eunice, Legacy Academy, Santa Rosa and Texico. In fact, the gap between those four teams and the rest of 2A appears significant despite Raton's home win over Santa Rosa last week. Hozho Academy should win District 2A-1, which gives them an automatic bid. Will another team from that district get in? Four teams are battling for two spots. A loss in Week 11 could end the season for any of those teams.
