Film Room: Top 5 North Coast Section Rushing Leaders

The Tennyson product is currently leading the North Coast Section in rushing through his first 6 games and is a physical and bruising back that has been one of the breakout stars so far in the first half of the season. He moves well for his size, is light on his feet and has twitch and contact balance through the hole while seeking out contact in the open field and tough to take down in one on one situations. He has rushed for 1,022 and 15 touchdowns through six games and is well on his way to closing in on the 1,500+ yard rushing mark come week 10. Luckey made the transfer over to Clayton Valley late this summer from California, and has been one of the more productive rushers across the section during the first half of the year. The Fresno State commit has been on a tear for his entire prep career and is looking to finish off strong in his final season before heading to the Mountain West ranks. To no surprise, he checks into our rankings as a top 3 rusher across the NCS and has amassed just over 1,000 yards rushing and 15 touchdowns while averaging nearly 8 yards per carry against some really quality opponents. The Sonoma product is one of the top ball carriers across the North Bay and has been off to a strong start to his senior year campaign. He is a big and bruising back that moves well for his size and does a nice job running behind his pads with forward lean and strong contact balance when bouncing off tacklers. He has good vision at the first level, shows some short area wiggle and looks for contact while tough to bring down in traffic. He has rushed for 748 yards and 8 touchdowns through 5 games and it looks as if he will go over the 1,000 yard marker before post season play starts up for the Dragons. Clarke is another one of the top two-way players across the north bay and is having an excellent senior season for Petaluma and should draw plenty of D3+ interest. He is a bruising runner that gets north and south quick playing in the Trojan triple option attack and does a nice job bouncing off tacklers and seeking contact in the hole. Through the first five weeks of play he checks in as a top five rusher in the north coast section and has amassed 717 yards on the ground with 5 touchdowns and doubles duties at linebacker as well. One of the top ball carriers in the north coast section, the Las Lomas product is having a great senior season thus far and is looking to help lead Las Lomas into post season play. He is a very balanced player that can stay patient behind his blocks and run tough inside while also able to bounce it to the outside and gain the edge. He is also a very effective pass catcher out of the backfield and offers good diversity to his play.
