He is a true edge setter with heavy hands and has some twitch when pass rushing and natural bend around the corner. He also shows he can blow up blockers/pullers while holding the point and time up pressures off the edge. Owens is a very physical player that can shock and shed quickly and brings a thump at contact when making tackles behind the line. He has tallied 110+ tackles and 19 TFL's through seven games and will be one of the top returning players heading into next year. From his outside linebacker/safety position he does a great job fitting the run when dropping down into the box and packs a punch when tackling while taking the proper angles and is able to knife around blockers. He plays with a quick trigger and high motor and sniffs out screens/crossing concepts well with natural ball skills and return abilities. He has a strong first step to get a jump on tackles, shows he can counter back inside with closing speed and takes the right angles when closing in on quarterbacks. In the run game, he is stout with his inside stab before clubbing off to make the tackle and shows quick block recognition while able to take on pullers/double teams with ease. He is a very instinctual player with natural ball skills, quickly breaks to ball carriers and is a excellent open field tackler when dropping down into the box. He displays natural instincts and is seemingly always around the ball and shows up outside the tackles as well. In pass coverage, he can quickly get into the flats and cover bigger backs and receivers and should continue developing nicely into a D3+ prospect by the time his prep career comes to a close. He currently sits at 80+ tackles, 14 TFL's and 3.5 sacks on the year and could very well hit the 100+ tackle marker by seasons end. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
