Amite overcame some early miscues that slowed its start Thursday and rolled its way past Albany.

The Warriors scored touchdowns in each of the first three quarters, including a pair each in the second and third, to beat the Hornets, 35-0, for their sixth straight win and first shutout of the season.

Here's a look at some of the eye-catching performances that stood out.

Cedric Burise Jr. 5-10, 165 DB — Amite (2028)

The sophomore helped highlight the Warriors' coverage with a third-quarter interception he read, jumped and returned 23 yards to the end zone for his team's final touchdown. Burise, Franklin Morgan Jr., Cameron Madison and company allowed Albany little success through the air, just a couple bigger plays followed by quick responses to help preserve the shutout.

[player_tooltip player_id='920611' first='Kaleb' last='Campbell'] — 6-4, 240 EDGE — Amite (2026)

The Warriors' big edge rusher was among the standouts in the stout group in the box that slowed down the Hornets' rushing attack, but also racked up a few highlights on special teams: getting good distance on most of his kickoffs and then beating the rest of the team down to make three or four tackles.

Lajahren Cyprian — 6-5, 185 WR — Amite (2026)

The big pass-catcher, a multisport athlete who is also a basketball standout, was a go-to target for his quarterback — particularly in a two-minute drill before halftime on which they connected a few different times down the field with Cyprian finding openings in the defense and showing after-the-catch ability that included breaking tackles for additional yardage.

Jamyron Dillon — 5-7, 170 RB — Amite (2028)

The sophomore running back is a focal point of the offense, pairing with senior Trez Richardson to set the early tone on the ground and finding the end zone for the 7-0 lead in the first quarter. Dillon is a smaller athlete with the quickness to make defenders miss in space or slip through even tighter running lanes, but tough and strong through contact and with great balance to always seem to be able to pick up at least an extra yard or two

Drew Palmer — 6-3, 185 QB — Amite (2026)

The senior quarterback scored a pair of touchdowns with his legs and another as a passer. His first end-zone trip came on a goal-line keeper powering behind the offensive line, but as the game continued, he showed the vision and quickness to get loose for bigger gains as well, including a big third-down conversion and second scoring run to highlight a third-quarter drive. And he also connected with a few different receivers, including a couple bigger plays down the field to Cyprian and Zaylon Foster.

[player_tooltip player_id='1250286' first='Braylen' last='Taylor'] — 5-9, 170 WR/ATH — Amite (2027)

The Warriors consistently got the ball quickly outside to Taylor to set the speedy athlete with opportunities in space for an effective complement to the running game to keep the offense on schedule and the chains moving.

Jonah Grob — 6-0, 205 RB/LB — Albany (2026)

The Hornets' senior was a standout on both sides of the ball as a bell-cow running back and one of the team's leading tacklers in the box.

Jayden Lapine — RB/ATH — Albany (2027)

Like Grob, Lapine is a key piece for the Hornets in multiple phases. And Thursday, he made some of his biggest plays on special teams, including a recovery of a muffed punt and a blocked extra-point.
