The Bears were able to open up a big lead in the high-profile District 4-5A matchup thanks to their success on the pivotal downs en route to an emphatic 57-28 victory.

Here's a look at some of the eye-catching standouts from the contest.

[player_tooltip player_id='1610241' first='Jude' last='Chamberlain'] — 6-5, 230 TE — Catholic (Baton Rouge) (2027)

The Bears' big tight end has continued to develop into an increasingly versatile weapon for the team's offense, lining up all over the field — even Friday along an unbalanced offensive line with a tackle split out on the either side of the formation, all setting up Chamberlain to slip freely into the secondary for a fourth-down catch and run all the way to the end zone. The junior standout finished with three long catches for 116 yards and two touchdowns.

TarJon Dearbone — 6-1, 330 DL — Catholic (Baton Rouge) (2026)

Big "Tank" was a run-stuffing anchor in the middle of the defensive front, clogging up interior running lanes and getting his hands on ball-carriers for big stops — including as the primary tackler on a pivotal third-quarter fourth down — or to slow them down while his teammates swarmed.

John Russell DeMoss — 5-11, 185 LB — Catholic (Baton Rouge) (2026)

Prep Redzone Louisiana likes to spotlight new players, and DeMoss was flying around for sure, hard-hitting stops on pivotal downs as one of the early tone-setters along with fellow senior linebackers [player_tooltip player_id='1602064' first='Harrison' last='Kidder'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1602105' first='Maxwell' last='Maurer'] and safety [player_tooltip player_id='401737' first='Blaine' last='Bradford'] in a great all-around defensive performance.

[player_tooltip player_id='1602040' first='Turner' last='Goldsmith'] — 5-10, 170 QB — Catholic (Baton Rouge) (2026)

The senior quarterback had another efficient Friday night of work with 235 yards and four scores on 10-for-15 passing, doing a great job of orchestrating the offense and — whether on quick throws or standing in and delivering through some contact — getting the ball out to his playmakers in opportunities for bigger plays after the catch.

[player_tooltip player_id='739720' first='Jayden' last='Miles'] — 6-2, 210 RB — Catholic (Baton Rouge) (2027)

The Bears' highly touted junior prospect was a versatile, leading weapon at the front of an all-around effective running back rotation. Miles scored the game's first touchdown on a fourth-down wildcat keeper through contact, over defenders and into the end zone, then scored again in the second quarter on a 50-yard screen and run and finally on a 25-yard run on which he showed off his contact balance through multiple attempted tackles. He finished with 75 yards and two scores on 13 rushes and another 74 yards and a score on three catches.

[player_tooltip player_id='1602074' first='Shane' last='Brown'] — 5-8, 160 RB — Central (2026)

The senior running back finished with 26 yards on 12 carries against a stout Catholic defense, but he managed to find the end zone twice on a diving 9-yard catch heading into halftime and a 98-yard kickoff return in the third quarter.

Jaydon Garnett — 6-1, 220 EDGE — Central (2027)

The Wildcats' linebacker was in the mix for a few of the teams' bigger stops, including an early third-down stuff behind the line and a leaping pressure off the edge to disrupt a high, lofting through and set up a [player_tooltip player_id='942208' first='Mason' last='Moore'] interception.

Beau Hill — 5-10, 175 DB — Central (2026)

and [player_tooltip player_id='1356113' first='Marvin' last='Joseph'] Jr. — 6-0, 170 DB — Central (2027)

and [player_tooltip player_id='942208' first='Mason' last='Moore'] — 5-10, 160 DB — Central (2027)

The Wildcats' safeties provided some of the biggest highlight plays for the defense with the aforementioned Moore interception — combining his read and break with the assist from Garnett's pressure — and a fourth-down breakup in the end zone with Hill and Joseph bracketing Chamberlain and managing to deflect away a potential score for a turnover on downs.

[player_tooltip player_id='710977' first='Keithon' last='Womack'] — 6-1, 175 WR — Central (2026)

The senior wide receiver provided the Wildcats a big spark in the second quarter with a 93-yard touchdown to put the team on the board after a defensive stop. Womack finished with 117 yards on two catches.
