The Class 1A playoffs get underway Friday night across the state. The action kicks off a month-long march to the title game on Nov. 20 in the UNI-Dome. Student-athletes will lock in as they pursue their dream of being the last ones standing before heading off to Thanksgiving dinner.

Here's a closer look at 10 guys who could be X-Factors during the postseason in 1A:

[player_tooltip player_id='1217413' first='Jack' last='Carolan'], SR, OL/DL, West Lyon: The senior has been a force on both sides of the trench this season. He's helped pave the way for a dangerous offense that has averaged 8.1 yards per carry with 36 touchdowns on the ground. He's also piled up 30.5 tackles (25 solo, 6.5 TFL) with 2.5 sacks.

Coy Moline, JR, ATH, Manson-NW Webster: Moline has been a do-it-all standout for the Cougars in 2025. He's rushed for 1,117 yards (7.2 YPC) and 13 touchdowns, and caught four balls for 80 yards and a score. On defense, he's accounted for 44.0 tackles (25 solo, 1.5 TFL) and two interceptions. He's also served as the team's punter.

[player_tooltip player_id='1614184' first='Judd' last='Jirovsky'], SR, ATH, Grundy Center: The Spartans have run their winning streak to 47 games, going 8-0 in 2025 with Jirovsky delivering at a high level. The senior has thrown for 1,084 yards with 17 touchdowns against a lone interception, rushed for 442 yards (8.5 YPC) and eight scores, delivered 11 solo tackles, forced a fumble, picked off three balls and defended six passes.

Anderson Yoder, SR, WR/DB, Hudson: The Pirates won a district title with Yoder doing yeoman's work at multiple positions. The senior caught 56 passes for 652 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, he amassed 52.0 tackles (41 solo, 4.5 TFL), a half sack and three interceptions. He's averaged 28.9 yards and scored on TD on 11 kick returns, and his nine punt returns have averaged 11.1 yards.

Mack Wolfe, SR, RB/LB, Beckman Catholic: Beckman rolls into the postseason with a 7-1 mark and a five-game winning streak in large part due to Wolfe's contributions. The senior has rushed for 563 yards (7.0 YPC) and 15 touchdowns, and registered 31.5 tackles (21 solo, 6.5 TFL).

[player_tooltip player_id='1657101' first='Kyle' last='Tracy'], SR, QB, Regina Catholic: It would make perfect sense to put one of Tracy's talented junior teammates into this category based on potential. That said, it feels like Tracy will be the one with the most influence on the Regals' postseason run. The senior has thrown for 1,399 yards and 21 touchdowns against only three interceptions while completing 76.8 percent of his throws. He's rushed for 225 yards and five scores, too.

[player_tooltip player_id='1466768' first='Kinnick' last='Geers'], SR, ATH, West Marshall: Geers embodies much of the multi-phase impact his namesake, Nile Kinnick, did when winning the Heisman Trophy, on a smaller scale, of course. The senior has rushed for 453 yards (10.1 YPC) and nine touchdowns, caught 29 balls for 784 yards and seven scores, totaled 37.5 tackles (32 solo, 1.0 TFL) and intercepted two throws, averaged 23.9 on nine kick returns and 23.7 yards on six punt returns.

Jett Sornson, SR, ATH, Treynor: The district champion Cardinals have won six games in a row with Sornson providing key contributions to the cause. The senior has rushed for 868 yards (8.3 YPC) and 12 touchdowns, adding three receptions for 26 yards. He posted 10.5 tackles (5 solo, .5 TFL) with two interceptions.

Preston Dolash, SR, OL/DL, South Hardin: The Tigers had the misfortune of ending up in the same district as Grundy Center, which has won 47 games in a row, but they're still one of the top teams in 1A thanks to talents like Dolash. The multi-sport athlete that also shines in basketball and baseball has racked up 18.0 tackles (14 solo, 4.0 TFL) and two sacks. His work on the O-Line has keyed one of the state's most balanced and explosive offenses.

[player_tooltip player_id='1197483' first='Braylon' last='Bingham'], JR, ATH, Pleasantville: The Trojans were tripped up at I-35 but otherwise unbeaten thanks, in large part, to Bingham's exploits in all three phases. The junior has thrown for 1,046 yards and 12 touchdowns, rushed for 581 yards (9.2 YPC) and five scores, recorded 34.0 tackles (22 solo, 1.0 TFL), and averaged 36.0 yards with a TD on five punt returns.
