Who To Watch for in Minor (2-0) v. Woodlawn (0-2) This Thursday

It's Week 2, and we thought we'd preview one of the state's top matchups in Minor (2-0) vs. Woodlawn (0-2) this week!   Minor (2-0) and Woodlawn (0-2) both have talented rosters, so we're diving in and watching some of the prospects we think could have big performances when the two meet up.   As always, make sure to watch some of their tape below- these guys all have huge seasons ahead and deserve more eyes.   <h1 class="wp-block-heading">WOODLAWN</h1>    Keijaun Johnson, a South Carolina commit, has been one of Woodlawn's top performers this season.   “At 6'2 175, Johnson has great size and athleticism he uses to fly around the secondary and create big stops. Johnson is physical and incredibly reliable in coverage. He consistently shuts down WRs deep downfield and does a great job tracking the ball and using his hands to come away with impressive PBUs and INTs.   Johnson is also great against the run. He flies downhill, fills in lanes, and wraps up/delivers huge hits to RBs to stop them for little to no gain. With his speed, it's easy for Johnson to make plays from sideline to sideline- he's a rangy DB who can make plays in pursuit anywhere on the field.“   Johnson has also lined up and dominated at WR this season. Make sure you check out some of his tape from this year- he's been playing at a high level:      [player_tooltip player_id='1626458' first='Cornealius' last='Hudson'], a Samford commit, has made some huge plays out in Woodlawn's secondary this season.   “Hudson is highly athletic- at 6'1 160, he has prototypical size at CB and plays with a ton of speed and instincts out in coverage. Hudson is terrific at using his size and hands to his advantage, frequently wearing down WRs and breaking underneath passes to force PBUs and INTs.   It's really impressive seeing how versatile Hudson is in coverage. He can line up and produce in press man, off the line of scrimmage, and in zone against a wide variety of WRs. Hudson is just as productive as a run defender; he consistently flies downhill to pursue and take down the ball carrier, regardless of where he lined up pre-snap.“   Make sure you watch some of Hudson's tape from Week 1. He's a ball hawk that Minor will have to look out for this week.      Dietric Young, an Alabama A&M commit, is another talented piece of Woodlawn's defense.   “If there's one guy you do not want to meet head-on, it's Dietric Young. He's a physical, aggressive DB who can dish out massive hits to the ballcarrier, put pressure on the QB, and defend the run at a really high level.   Young is really athletic. He has great speed, instincts, and skills in pursuit he uses to fly around the field and create stops. I'm especially impressed with what he can do down by/behind the line of scrimmage. He easily slips by blockers to meet and wrap up the ball carrier for little to no gain almost every down. I loved what I saw in Young's tape; he's an enforcer type who demands attention from offenses all game long.“   Young has also made some huge plays at WR this season. Minor will have to watch out for him on both sides of the ball this week. Check out this huge TD pass he reeled in against Bessemer City:      [player_tooltip player_id='1715107' first='Elijah' last='Foreman'] is an talented up-and-coming OL that Minor will have to account for in the trenches.   “Foreman is a dominant OT who helps open up so much of Woodlawn's rushing and passing attacks. At 6'3 285, Foreman has great size, quickness, and strength he uses to dish out massive blocks at the line of scrimmage and beyond. I love seeing how Foreman plays through the whistle, he'll drive defenders back several yards off the LOS and into the dirt- his effort in the trenches is unmatched.   I'm seriously impressed with Foreman's skills in pass protection. He's quick on his feet, has active hands, and consistently pancakes defenders to provide plenty of time for his quarterback to work with in the pocket. With his versatile skill set, the sky's the limit.“   Foreman put together some great tape last season, make sure you give him a watch below:     <h1 class="wp-block-heading">MINOR</h1>    [player_tooltip player_id='1604813' first='Dominic' last='White'] (WR), a South Alabama commit, has been off to a hot start this season.   "White is a big threat for Minor's passing attack. He has great speed and acceleration he uses to completely cook opposing DBs downfield, opening up massive opportunities for his team's passing attack. White is just as productive underneath and off of screen passes- he's a quick route runner who can beat you at multiple levels of the field and after the catch.   White is really talented with the ball in his hands- he can make defenders miss, step out of tackles, and provide a ton of explosive plays at the WR position."   Woodlawn will have to stop White from creating explosives. He's been terrific at producing them season, just take a look at how he played against Paul W. Byrant:      [player_tooltip player_id='1674134' first='Trevone' last='Hurth'], a senior RB, has been explosive for Minor's rushing attack so far this season.   "Hurth is a really well-rounded back with great vision, explosive speed, and terrific contact balance he uses to create big plays on the ground on a routine basis. Hurth is patient behind the line of scrimmage, does a great job following blockers, and has the speed and acceleration to quickly turn upfield for huge plays.   Hurth really impressed me with his toughness- he runs hard, frequently sheds off tackles, and requires multiple defenders to bring him down. Once he gets moving in the open field, good luck stopping him- Hurth can seriously hurt defenses with his speed and physicality."   Hurth is a talented back that can go from 0-100 in a moment's notice. He's already created a hgue impact on the gorund this season, he'll be one to watch this week.      [player_tooltip player_id='1658083' first='Corrion' last='Tyson'], a Samford commit, has made a ton of plays in Minor's secondary this season.   "Tyson is a physical man-to-man corner who consistently wins at the line of scrimmage and causes headaches for opposing WRs. Tyson is terrific at pressing off the line, isn't easy to beat downfield, and has the vision and ball skills to track, break up, and pick off passes all over the field."   Tyson has been off to a great start this season, flying around and making plays against the run and pass against some talented offenses. Take a look at how he played last week:      [player_tooltip player_id='1059898' first='Mykale' last='Hrabowski'] is a lockdown DB in Minor's secondary we'll have to keep track of this week.   "At 6'3 180, Hrabowski has elite size that helps him win matchups all over the field. Hrabowski is a tough DB to throw against- his size, speed, and arm length allow him to fly around the field and make plays on the ball that other DBs just wouldn't be able to make. Hrabowski has great ball skills- he plays with great concentration, timing, and instincts that allow him to fly in and break up/pick off passes.   One thing that really impressed me with Hrabowski's tape was his ability to produce wherever he lined up- he can play press man at outside CB, play deep downfield, and make plays as a rangy FS, and overall is a huge threat to opposing passing attacks with how good he is in coverage."   Hrabowksi has already been making a huge impact for Minor defensively. He's a versatile DB who can make huge plays against the run and pass, Woodlawn will have to look out for him.
