Below, we break down 15 games from week two. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma every single day for new content throughout the 2025 football season!

ARDMORE 49, SHAWNEE 48

In one of the highest-scoring games of week two, Ardmore knocked off Shawnee 49-48. This game ended up being one of the best games of week two. Both teams exchanged blows throughout the evening but neither could land the knock out blow. The game was close throughout and Shawnee scored a touchdown late in the contest to make it 49-48. On what would have tied the game, Ardmore blocked the extra point and then recovered an onside kick and ran the rest of the time out. Ardmore was a 4A team that we were very intrigued by in Class 4A considering all the returning starters they had coming back. The same goes for Shawnee in Class 5A. Ardmore is now 1-2 and goes into a much-needed by week before facing 4A power Tuttle in week four.

BERRYHILL 31, BRISTOW 8

Berryhill finally had a game that didn't come down to the final minute with the outcome decided by a single point. The Chiefs wrapped up non-district play with a 31-8 victory over Bristow on Friday night. Berryhill lost to Cushing by a point in week zero and then beat Fort Gibson by a point in week one. Bristow opened their 2025 season with a comeback win over Cushing last week. Both teams were used to the late game heroics at this point but on Friday night, Berryhill jumped out early and often. The Chiefs now head into the bye week with some momentum after winning their last two games. And in the 3A district they're in, they have a chance to make plenty of noise, even potentially capturing the district championship. But it's still mid-September and a lot of football to be played.

BROKEN ARROW 21, MUSTANG 14

Broken Arrow prevailed 21-14 over Mustang in a match-up of top five teams in Class 6A-1 Friday night. After back to back trips to northwest Arkansas, the Tigers finally got to play in front of the home fans. The Tigers had to hold on in the second half and prevent a Mustang rally to improve to 2-1 on the season. Now, a major storyline coming out of this game was the fact that Mustang was not at full strength. Their star quarterback and Florida State commit was in street clothes on the sideline after getting banged up in the season opener against Yukon. Despite that, Mustang gave Broken Arrow all they wanted and then some. The Tigers leaned on their stars and a strong rushing attack to get the win. BA is 2-1 heading into a bye week in week three.

CASHION 40, RINGLING 16

Cashion is 3-0 on the season and they looked impressive in week two, beating Ringling 40-16. The Wildcats had another balanced performance offensively and they are taking some serious momentum into a much-needed bye week after facing tough non-district competition. Head coach Lynn Shackelford captured his 200th victory in the win Friday night. He's one of a handful of active coaches that have 200 victories. He's been coaching at Cashion for two decades and has consistently had the Wildcats in contention, so racking up the wins year after year comes with the territory. This year is no different and Cashion looks like a team that could compete for another state title in Class A-1, that feels very competitive at the top this season.

CUSHING 38, PERKINS-TRYON 12

Week two saw several dominant second half performances and this was one of them. In the Highway 33 rivalry clash between Cushing and Perkins-Tryon, the Tigers left no doubt who owns the highway this year, running away from the Demons in a 38-12 victory. You can't judge this game on the final score alone. It was all Perkins-Tryon in the first two quarters. They led 12-10 going into halftime. But the Tigers would absolutely dominate the third and fourth quarters. They outscored Perkins-Tryon 28-0 in the final two quarters to capture the big win. Cushing now has a bye week before they open up district play, and that's a district that they should be considered the favorite at this point. Perkins-Tryon hosts Webster in a game we'll be at on Thursday night.

HAYS, KS. 21, CHOCTAW 19

Choctaw has been a team that has never backed down from an early deficit. Late in 2024, Choctaw rallied in the semifinals and then again in the championship game to come out on the winning side. The Yellowjacket made a trip up to Kansas to face Hays, the Class 5A runner up from last season. The Yellowjackets trailed 21-6 in the fourth quarter when they started climbing out of that hole. They made the game 21-19 and were threatening to take the lead late in the game. They even got inside the Hays 10-yard line but a turnover would send the Yellowjackets home with a two-point loss. Choctaw now has to wipe away that 21-19 loss and shift their focus on week three. They travel to Bixby to face hands down the best team in the state right now.

JENKS 48, UNION 30

Jenks left no doubt in this year's edition of the annual rivalry game with Union. The Trojans beat the visiting Redhawks 48-30 on Friday night but the final score wasn't even close to how this game went for three quarters. In the blink of an eye, Jenks was up 27-0 and then 34-0 by halftime. The Trojans took their foot off the gas and got some younger players into the game in the third and fourth quarter. Union was able to get some points on the scoreboard and make the final a little more respectable. But this game was a first round knockout as the Trojans improve to 3-0 and Union drops to 0-3. Both teams now enter a bye week. Union has to regroup before district play begins while Jenks will rest up and get ready for a 1 VS 2 showdown with Bixby.

KIEFER 30, VIAN 29

Following a tough loss to Jones in week one, Kiefer bounced back in a major way in week two. But it didn't look like they would take care of business against Vian. The Trojans prevailed 30-29 on Friday night but not before falling down a hole that was going to be tough to climb out of. The Wolverines led the Trojans 29-8 in the third quarter. Kiefer responded behind their emerging star at quarterback and a stout defense to slow down Vian's high-powered offensive attack. They scored 22 unanswered points to steal a win in the final minute. That emerging star at quarterback would run in what would be the game-winning touchdown with less than a minute to play. We'll have more on that performance in our Top Performer feature on Sunday afternoon!

LINCOLN CHRISTIAN 41, SHILOH CHRISTIAN, AR. 33

Lincoln Christian went over to Arkansas and took down Shiloh Christian 41-13 on Friday night. When you look at the Lincoln Christian schedule for 2025, this week two showdown looked like it was going to be the toughest challenge to the Bulldogs until the playoffs. They came out on top and passed that test. Led by their senior quarterback, Lincoln Christian put the pressure on Shiloh Christian early, in what became a very high-scoring game. Shiloh Christian is one of the perennial powerhouses over in Arkansas and this has become a very fun non-district series between an Oklahoma power and an Arkansas power. Lincoln Christian now takes week three off, rests and prepares for a district slate, where they will be the favorites every single week.

METRO CHRISTIAN 41, CASCIA HALL 14

Metro Christian made the short trip over to Cascia Hall and absolutely dominated the second half to run away with a 41-14 victory over the Commandos. The Patriots were led by their star quarterback but they only led 10-0 at halftime. In the third quarter, they took advantage of multiple Cascia Hall turnovers and short field situations. They lit up the scoreboard in the third quarter to run away with the 41-14 win. Metro Christian is off to a hot start and looks to be one of the top contenders in Class 2A-1. Cascia Hall feels like the ultimate up and down team early on. They've suffered tough losses to rival Holland Hall and Metro Christian. But they also had a huge road win over Rejoice Christian in week one. We can't figure the Commandos out at this point.

NEWCASTLE 63, BLANCHARD 40

Newcastle bounced back from a tough loss to Tuttle by lighting up the scoreboard in a 63-40 win over Blanchard. For the second straight week, Newcastle was facing a top ten team in Class 4A. They set the tone early on for how the game was going to go. In the blink of an eye, the Racers were up 21-0 early on in the second quarter. Blanchard would also do their share of lighting up the scoreboard, led by a very potent passing attack Friday night. But because Newcastle jumped out to that early lead, Blanchard was constantly playing catch up and made several mistakes that Newcastle took advantage of. Whether it was defensive or special teams touchdowns, Newcastle couldn't be stopped as they rolled to the 23-point victory.

OWASSO 45, SAND SPRINGS 17

It was a slow and methodical win for Owasso on Friday night as they hosted Sand Springs. The Rams beat the Sandites 45-17 to capture their first win of the season. Owasso slowly but surely continued to pull away from the Sandites behind a strong rushing attack. Friday night was a good example of just how explosive this Owasso offense can be between what they have in the run game an the weapons they have in the passing game. The Rams now get a week off before opening up district play in week four. For Sand Springs, the Sandites knew they were opening the season with back to back brutal match-ups after they hosted Bixby in week one. They will face Bishop Kelley in week three before going into district play, where they look like the heavy favorite for the district crown.

PAWHUSKA 44, HOMINY 27

Pawhuska dominated rival Hominy in the second half and ran away with a 44-27 victory Friday night. The Huskies were once again led by their high-powered offense and a quarterback that more people need to start talking about. More on him in our Top Performer feature that comes out Sunday. Hominy made things close by the time the two teams went to the halftime locker room. The Bucks scored late in the second quarter and the Huskies only led 22-21. They outscored the Bucks 22-6 in the second half to improve to 3-0 on the season. They took down one top five team in Class A-2 Friday night and now shift their focus to another one. They will host defending A-2 state champion Woodland on Friday night. Hominy looks to bounce back from a 1-1 start.

SULPHUR 34, DAVIS 14

One week after snapping Washington's 45-game winning streak, Sulphur could have suffered a let down. But not when that next game was Murray County War as the Bulldogs made the short trip over to Davis to take on the defending Class 2A-2 state champions. It was a balanced offensive attack for the Bulldogs as they rolled to a 34-14 victory over the Wolves. Similar to a few games on this breakdown, it was close early on but Sulphur would pound away and eventually run away with another rivalry win. Sulphur is 2-0 on the season while Davis has dropped to 1-1. But just as a reminder, Davis began last season with an 0-3 record and finished the regular season at 6-4. They beat three straight undefeated teams to capture the 2A-2 state championship in 2024.

TONKAWA 27, FAIRVIEW 21

In a match-up of top ten teams in Class A-1, Tonkawa came out on top, beating Fairview 27-21. For Fairview, this ends their gauntlet run of a non-district schedule as they've now faced top ten teams in Class 2A-1, 2A-2 and now A-1 to kick off the season. Things aren't going to get much easier for the Yellowjackets as they look like they might be in the toughest district in this class this season. Fairview will take advantage of the bye week to rest up and get ready for another gauntlet run in October and November. Tonkawa wraps up non-district play next week with another top ten opponent with Stroud. Similar to Fairview, Tonkawa is a team that we had more questions than answers heading into this season but they've looked great so far in 2025.
