Week 5 Recap- Standout Defensive Performances Across the State

What a week!   Today, we're watching some of our Standout Performers on the defensive side of the ball. These prospects dominated this week and have been putting together some impressive seasons- we're all going to have to watch out for them moving forward.   With that being said, make sure you watch their film below!    [player_tooltip player_id='1622479' first='Keegan' last='Horn'] is an explosive pass rusher from Hueytown who dominated for his defense this week.   "Horn is a force off the edge who plays with a ton of speed- he's incredibly quick and flies to the ball carrier nearly every down. It's seriously impressive watching Horn get off the line of scrimmage. He's quick off the snap, has active hands, and can quickly work around OTs to get into the backfield and force huge stops.   Every passing down Horn completely overwhelms offensive linemen with his speed, strength, and variety of moves, consistently finding ways to affect the QB by generating pressure and racking up sacks. Horn also has excellent pursuit skills and can close in on just about anybody on the field- it's impressive to see."   Horn was unstoppable against Hillcrest this week. He racked up 12 total tackles (one for loss), 2 sacks, and a forced fumble.   Be sure to check out some of Horn's clips from this past week. He's a talented player in the middle of a dominant senior year.      [player_tooltip player_id='1604824' first='Charles' last='Chappelle'] is a dominant LB out of Benjamin Russell who's coming off one of his best performances of the year.   "Chappelle is highly athletic and really impresses me in coverage. Although playing LB, Chappelle has terrific ball skills and can come away with PBUs and interceptions on some huge passing downs.   Outside of coverage, Chappelle is really effective at blitzing and stopping the run- he is hard to contain when he's coming downfield and frequently comes away with huge plays in the backfield."   Chapelle put together a great game against Charles Henderson. He recorded 10 total tackles (3 for loss) and a pick-six.   Make sure you check out some of Chappelle's tape below. He's a dominant defender that more teams need to watch out for.      Cayden Oliver is an athletic LB who's made a ton of plays for Decatur's defense this year.   “Right off the bat, it's clear Oliver is an intelligent defender. He's excellent at identifying plays and consistently puts himself in great position to create big stops. It's really impressive seeing him fly across the field right into the action. He has a great understanding of what opposing offenses are trying to run.   On top of that, he has the speed, tackling, and pursuit skills to create tons of issues for opposing offenses. Whether it's a run or a pass, Oliver will find a way to make an impact. He's a reliable defender putting together an impressive season so far this fall. Keep watch.”   Oliver dominated in his team's matchup against Lee Huntsville. He racked up 10 total tackles (2 for loss), 2 sacks, and 4 QB hurries.   Oliver has been dominant this season. "Parker is an explosive pass rusher- he's quick off the line of scrimmage, can fight off blockers, and has great closing speed he uses to generate pressure and take down the quarterback.   It's just as impressive watching Parker off-ball- he's a dominant run defender who fills in rushing lanes, fights off blockers, and cones up with tackles behind the line of scrimmage and in the open field."   Parker dominated Moody this week, racking up 10 total tackles (one for loss), and a pick-six.   I've been really impressed with Parker's play this season. He's a talented defender who has brought a ton of juice to Auburn's defense. Make sure you check out some of his film below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1583465' first='Gus' last='Faulkner'] has been on a tear this season, dominating offenses across the state.   “Faulkner is extremely productive off-ball, making tons of plays out in coverage. It's really impressive watching him fly around the field to break up passes. With his size, he presents a multitude of matchup issues against TEs/RBs.   Faulkner is also great at defending the run. He's excellent at reading and reacting to plays, consistently putting himself in great position to fill in gaps and take down the ball carrier no matter where he initially lines up.“   Faulkner had another dominant showing this past week against Theodore. He recorded 9 total tackles and an INT, flying around the field all night long.   Check out some of his clips from this past week; you'll be impressed.
