It's Week 4 of the season and most teams are either beginning region play or getting one final non-region contest before getting into the meat of the schedule. That gives players one more opportunity to impress or tweak things for the second half of the season.

We look across the Coast, Lowcountry and Pee Dee area to look at some players that are expected to make impacts this week and beyond.

[player_tooltip player_id='1824824' first='Nick' last='Kondratenko'] RB, Waccamaw

Kondratenko is coming off a game in which he rushed for 100 yards on 17 carries and he's a great change of pace back from [player_tooltip player_id='473016' first='AJ' last='Grate'] and Andre Grate - the two long-term stalwarts on this squad. He's smaller and more of a scat back that likes to get his yards on the outside. He has great hands and can be a weapon catching the ball out of the backfield or lining up out wide and creating a mismatch.

[player_tooltip player_id='1825000' first='Terrance' last='McFadden'] DE, Bethune-Bowman

McFadden is a huge match-up problem because he can line up at defensive end or inside linebacker, depending on where the Mohawks need him the most. He's 6-foot-3, 250 pounds and moves well in space and can take on larger tackles on the offensive line. Through the first three games of the season, he had three tackles for loss and three sacks to go along with nine tackles. He even had a rushing touchdown and one pass reception.

Jamari Haynes DE, Baptist Hill

Haynes has become a menace on the defensive front for the Bobcats. Stats are unavailable from this past Friday but in two games, the senior had 26 tackles, five tackles for loss and two sacks. That has helped Kilyn Gordon and Jourdin Polite have two interceptions each.

[player_tooltip player_id='1820265' first='Kanazzion' last='Bethea'] QB, Mullins

It's easy to say the offense runs through Bethea. Statistics from this past week weren't available but In the first two games of the season, the senior had 470 yards passing and 199 yards rushing and had accounted for eight total touchdowns. He has a top target in junior Keith Bridgett, but he likes to spread the ball around to several receivers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1267316' first='Denardo' last='Henry'] DE/LB Ridgeland

Henry is averaging 10 tackles per game and has two tackles for loss, a fumble recovery and a pass defended in the first three games of the season. He's stocky and does a good job of fending off blockers to make plays either coming right at him or going in the opposite direction. He plays with a high motor.

[player_tooltip player_id='1036782' first='Jagger' last='Spivey'] WR, Ashley Ridge

The Swamp Foxes are 2-2 but have a bona fide workhorse in running back [player_tooltip player_id='473024' first='Ryan' last='Campbell'] but Spivey is still dangerous in the passing game. His stats through the first three games were 15 receptions for 188 yards with one long TD catch against Wando to his credit. He can take pressure off Campbell by becoming more of a threat in the red zone but as long as he's making catches and moving the chains, the Ashley Ridge offense will be just fine.

[player_tooltip player_id='1664526' first='Malcolm' last='Gordon'] LB and [player_tooltip player_id='1639730' first='Chris' last='Doyle'] DT/DE, Bluffton

A lot is being made of the Bobcats offense, but the defense has been just as impressive, especially considering they just knocked off Hampton County 31-7 last week. Bluffton is allowing 12 points a game and Gordon and Doyle are a huge reason why. Gordon has 37 tackles to go along with five tackles for loss and a sack while Doyle checks in with 32 tackles, six tackles for loss and two sacks.

Dewey Bull LB, Lucy Beckham

Bull is averaging over 13 tackles per game and doing it by making plays all over the field. He doesn't mind making plays in the box but he's quick enough to be able to run down ball carriers out in space as well. The Bengals are 2-1 but the schedule is only going to get more difficult from this point forward, starting with Bluffton this week.

[player_tooltip player_id='1817380' first='Cedric' last='Burkes'] LB/RB, North Charleston

Burkes is coming off a contest in which he totaled eight tackles and blocked a punt and that might have been a subpar performance. The junior has 45 tackles on the season with seven tackles for loss, five sacks and one blocked punt. The Cougars play one more non-region contest against Stall this coming Friday.

[player_tooltip player_id='1820108' first='Alex' last='Lewis'] QB, Aynor

The Blue Jackets are going to run the football, but Lewis must be good enough to keep opposing defenses honest. [player_tooltip player_id='1734403' first='Luke' last='McCracken'] is coming off a four-touchdown performance last week and he will likely get his yards but if Lewis can hit some passes early, that will open things even more in the contest with Conway this week.

[player_tooltip player_id='1820942' first='Jashonte' last='Copley'] LB, Conway

The Tigers close out non-region play against Aynor, a team that wants to run the football. That will make the play of Copley even more important than it's been in the first four weeks of the season. The senior leads Conway with 23 tackles with one tackle for loss and two passes defended. Copley will have to help control the box and not let Aynor's running game find its footing.

[player_tooltip player_id='1592473' first='Kylif' last='Miller'] RB, Hartsville

The Red Foxes have scored 31 points in all three games this season but picked up their first win this past Friday. Miller and fellow running backs [player_tooltip player_id='1672833' first='Trace' last='Hillian'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1639740' first='Dorian' last='Mason'] each scored two touchdowns in the win over Rock Hill. Hartsville gets Dillon this week so they will need to control the ball, move the chains and find a way to get some stops on defense. But the trio of running backs will be the key to the offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1595007' first='Khayel' last='Sam Fong-Talia'] QB, Dillon

The Wildcats scored over 60 points last week and the Wildcats signal-caller is getting more comfortable by the week. Last week alone, he was 4-of-5 for 182 yards and three touchdowns. The freshman is completing over 70 percent of his passes and has 790 yards and eight touchdowns on the season. Dillon uses a variety of ball carriers with [player_tooltip player_id='1823082' first='Dominick' last='Felton'] leading the way, but the play of Fong-Talia will be critical against Hartsville.

[player_tooltip player_id='473021' first='Caden' last='Ramsey'] ATH, Cross

We know we could highlight Ramsey weekly, but the senior just keeps continuing to impress, especially on defense. Last week, he intercepted two more passes to give him four picks on the season. This comes on the heels of the South Carolina verbal commitment leading the state last season with 13 interceptions. He's added 17 tackles so he's making his mark on both sides of the ball once again this season.

Irangebiya Johnson RB, Latta

The Vikings remained undefeated with a 22-20 victory over Mullins last week and Johnson scored one of the three rushing touchdowns on the night. [player_tooltip player_id='1822831' first='Fischer' last='Richardson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1639778' first='Xy'Mari' last='Bethea'] also scored rushing TDs and Latta will have a chance to continue to tweak the running game this week with a contest against Green Sea Floyds.

[player_tooltip player_id='1820333' first='Jeremiah' last='Walters'] ATH, Hilton Head

It's safe to say that Walters has turned into a big play threat. In the first three games of the season, the junior was averaging over 28 yards per reception and had 254 yards receiving and three touchdowns. He's getting it done on the defensive side of the ball as well against a Hampton County team coming off of a loss.

[player_tooltip player_id='1820419' first='Desmond' last='Mathis'] DB, Hampton County

Mathis is likely going to draw Walters as his assignment this week, but Mathis has played well this season. He had two interceptions in the first three games to go along with five tackles. He also has been one of the top wide receiver targets with six catches for 109 yards and a touchdown in those three games.

Antaun Faison Jr ATH, Timberland

Faison did it all last week as he ran for 90 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries, and added 12 tackles, a fumble recovery and two pass breakups to help the Wolves remain undefeated with a win over Kingstree. He's been one of the steadier performers and he rarely gets a play off so he will be crucial against a physical Hanahan team this coming week.

[player_tooltip player_id='1822225' first='Isaiah' last='Snodgrass'] RB, Hanahan

The Hawks have been getting solid play from [player_tooltip player_id='1615084' first='Tripp' last='Gallus'] at quarterback and a trio of wide receivers, but they will need Snodgrass to be more of a factor in the rushing game. The Hawks have a final non-region tune-up against Timberland and they might try to get Snodgrass going so he can be more of a factor once region play begins.

[player_tooltip player_id='1824664' first='Takhari' last='Ross'] WR, Johnsonville

The Flashes lost for the first time this past Friday so they will look to rebound on the road at Lake View. Ross caught three passes for 101 yards and a touchdown in the loss, and he's been a big-play receiver for them all season. The running game is where Johnsonville wants to make its mark but if Ross can continue to be a big-play threat, that will open things up offensively.

Jalen Clake RB, Lake View

The Wild Gators are also coming off their first loss and will begin region play with Johnsonville. Clake scored three rushing touchdowns in the loss on Friday, but he's been the key to the Lake View ground attack all season. This will be a contest between two schools that want to run it first and hurt you in the passing game when it's given so Clake will be a key to keeping the chains moving.

Jay Dalton Todd LB and [player_tooltip player_id='1881794' first='Ethan' last='Shaw'] LB, Loris

The Lions have a youth movement at the linebacker spot and these two are leading the charge. They each have 30 tackles on the season and are making plays all over the field. Todd, a sophomore, also has an interception to his credit. Shaw is a freshman and has held his own in the middle of a defense that has state championship game aspirations. The defense is allowing just over 10 points per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1822553' first='Will' last='McNeely'] QB, North Myrtle Beach

The Chiefs want to be a physical rushing attack, and it will be McNeely and [player_tooltip player_id='1025820' first='Lamontae' last='Smith'] leading the attack. McNeely can be a threat with his legs or his arm, and a date with Marlboro County is the final non-region contest to tweak things. McNeely will be a key to the success of the offense, and the Bulldogs offer another tough challenge this week.

Myjae McCoy LB, Marlboro County

The Bulldogs are very physical, and McCoy is right in the middle of things. In the first three games of the season, the junior leads the team with 24 tackles, a tackle for loss and an interception. McCoy is quick and is able to beat blockers to the point of attack. That allows him to play freely and make plays out in space.

[player_tooltip player_id='1094944' first='Aiden' last='Manavian'] QB, Oceanside Collegiate

The Landsharks have played a very difficult non-region schedule, and the final contest might be toughest. Dutch Fork comes to town and Manavian remembers last year when he didn't play well against the Silver Foxes. In four games, the junior has thrown for 1,235 yards with 10 touchdowns but also eight interceptions. He will have to protect the ball against the Silver Foxes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1816824' first='Takim' last='Person'] WR, Whale Branch

The Warriors don't throw it often, but freshman QB Makhi Zackary is getting into a rhythm with the more reps he gets, and Person has become his security blanket. Person can make tough catches in traffic, and he can create separation from defensive backs to become a big target. The more those two play together, the better the passing attack will become.

[player_tooltip player_id='1825575' first='Micah' last='Dutton'] DL, Philip Simmons

The junior recorded nine tackles in his last game to give him 13 total tackles on the season. He's been very disruptive with six tackles for loss, a fumble recovery and a caused fumble. The Iron Horses have allowed six points in the last two games after allowing 75 points in the first two games. Dutton will have plenty of chances playing against a Whale Branch team that likes to establish the run first.

[player_tooltip player_id='1274260' first='Bryson' last='Bowers'] LB, James Island

The Trojans have become known as a strong defensive team in recent years and Bowers (pictured) has taken it upon himself to be the leader of the 2025 group. He makes about nine tackles per game and has become the quarterback, making sure everyone is positioned correctly. He plays well in the middle but can go sideline-to-sideline to make plays as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1765902' first='Bryce' last='Clemons'] LB, Stratford

The Knights have played well defensively, and Clemons has been one of the key leaders. In the first three games, the junior had 32 tackles, four tackles for loss, a sack and a pass break up. Clemons moves well and reacts quickly and that's helped him become a mainstay in the middle of the defense. Stratford gets one more non-region tune-up against Colleton County and Clemons is likely to be a key.

It's Week 4 of the season and most teams are either beginning region play or getting one final non-region contest before getting into the meat of the schedule. That gives players one more opportunity to impress or tweak things for the second half of the season.
