Here's a look at some of the guys who turned in excellent performances for their teams in Week 2 across the area.

[player_tooltip player_id='1734605' first='Josh' last='Smith'] RB, Ny Allen RB, and [player_tooltip player_id='1604046' first='Jackson' last='Free'] QB, Hillcrest - The Rams had a fantastic night on the ground against a good Greer defense, rushing for 449 yards - the highest rushing total for Hillcrest in at least 20 years. Smith led the way with 151 yards and TDs of 23 and 34 yards. Allen had 121 yards and scored on runs of 1 and 64 yards. And Free continued his trend of turning in big plays, rushing for a 67-yard touchdown and throwing TD passes of 55 yards to [player_tooltip player_id='1820617' first='Tyler' last='Tolbert'] and 11 to [player_tooltip player_id='1820611' first='Reed' last='Collier'].

[player_tooltip player_id='1639712' first='Triston' last='Lewis'] QB, Jay Duncan WR, and [player_tooltip player_id='1822754' first='Desiray' last='Christian'] WR, Greenwood - The trio was fantastic against Dorman, helping to engineer a 42-41 overtime victory. Lewis accounted for nearly 500 yards of total offense and six touchdowns, throwing five of those scores and surpassing Greenwood's school record for passing yards in a game. Duncan had 90 receiving yards and three touchdowns in the first half alone. And Christian started the game with a 58-yard reception on the first play, caught a 34-yard TD later in the first half, and pulled in a 37-yard score to set up a tying 2-point conversion with under 5 seconds to play.

Grass finished 24-for-32 and threw for 313 yards, tossing four touchdowns. Two of those went to Wimbley, who hauled in seven catches for 174 yards and two scores.

Tyrell Cunningham WR, Ware Shoals - Cunningham (pictured) rushed for two touchdowns, caught another, and intercepted a pass in the Hornets' 20-12 win over Landrum, helping Ware Shoals to a 3-0 start for the first time in more than 20 years.

[player_tooltip player_id='1705519' first='Josiah' last='Coleman'] QB and [player_tooltip player_id='1662338' first='Kaiden' last='Erby'] DB, Easley - Coleman's a touchdown machine, and continued to prove it against the Generals. He ran for 57 yards and threw for 122 and a pair of TDs, but both of those TDs were in a fourth-quarter comeback. He found Arkeis Shell for a 3-yard score to cut Gaffney's lead to 14-10 with 7:07 to play, and when Greenville got the ball back with 1:16 left, he went to work. Two scrambles, a couple of key plays to throw it away and avoid trouble, and a 13-yard TD to Jadyn Rice to give Greenville the win.

How the Raiders got into position is a credit to the defense. Whitley had six total tackles and Dendy Had eight, and they each recorded two sacks. And on the drive that got the ball back for the last gasp, Whitley and Dendy were in on every stop, with Dendy's key tackle bringing up fourth down and the ensuing Gaffney punt.
