Week 2 OAA Red + White Early Season Sleepers

Three teams and six players getting slept on a bit early on this season. Oxford, Stoney Creek, and West Bloomfield have gotten off to amazing starts, and it's due in some part thanks to these standout performances.    Jack has picked up right where he left off. Below is a great 2-minute highlight tape of Jack picking apart a very good Groves secondary.   First highlight, on the designed rollout, Jack hits the out route right at the sticks. Really good man coverage killer schemed up by the staff, and great job by Jack executing it. Next, an excellent read and good accuracy on the deep post. Jack threw a dart and put it where his WR could get it. 0:25 is another bullet to his TE on the stick route, and 0:33 is yet another bullet to the corner route.   I could go on and on. REALLY high-level play from Jack, and a huge reason why I think Oxford is a major sleeper team this season.      Players like Tommy are why Oxford finds success in the OAA's most difficult league. First highlight (DB), Tommy does a great job recognizing the WR screen and blows it up. Then, another instance of great recognition on the off-tackle run, and Tommy does a great job getting there before his LBs could make the tackle.   Throughout Tommy's tape, his eyes are always in the backfield and ready to pounce. Not sure how he is in pass coverage, but I know he's stopping anything that develops near the line of scrimmage. Great aggression.      I am so impressed every time I turn on Jeremiah's tape.   A couple of years ago, Jeremiah showcased his athletic ability at one of our Prep Redzone camps. At that time, he was an offensive lineman, and honestly, I didn't see amazing upside there.   Soon after, Jeremiah started repping more and more on the defensive line. He kept at it in the weight room without sacrificing that athletic ability. Now, he's a Power 4 commit.   Excuse me for not being as specific as the other evals with Jeremiah's tape. Throughout Jeremiah's (week 1-2, not 1-4) tape, he showcases high-end explosiveness, great quickness, and effort. A game-wrecker that offensive play callers need to game-plan against.      A solid off-ball linebacker who gets the job done.   Kicking off Ezekiel's tape is a great outside run stop. Ezekiel shoots the B gap and meets the running back in the backfield for a loss. 0:26 is another good run fit, this time a non-blitz stop in the A gap. The rest of Ezikiel's tape includes several more run stops and even a few QB hits. What I like most about Ezekiel's tape is his ability to tackle. A ton of sound tackles without allowing the ball carrier to earn extra yards.      Ian had a great day against a stout Lake Orion offensive line.   First highlight is a super quick pressure and sack. The QB never got comfortable in the pocket, and Ian was able to dip past a block quickly and chase down the QB. Next, a really good pickup on the bitzing linebacker (playing right guard). Another right guard highlight, Ian pulls and lays a textbook block on that same linebacker.   I like Ian's agility. Keep it up in the weight room, and Ian could be a college prospect this coming Spring.      A super productive day against Lake Orion. Nothing too flashy- a handful of carries, followed his blocks, and did his job incredibly well. I like Brosie's vision and cut inside at 1:15. That one subtle cut earned Brodie about 6 extra yards. Then, at 1:30, Brosie does a phenomenal job bouncing into the C gap, turning upfield, and scoring. Likely his best highlight of the season thus far.   Incredibly productive day against a very tough opponent!
