ALBUQUERQUE – Alamogordo was cautiously optimistic heading into the 2025 season that if the Tigers stayed healthy – unlike last season when injuries ravaged the roster – they had the talent for a very nice season.

So far, so good.

[player_tooltip player_id='1606032' first='Tristan' last='Bowman'] returned the second half kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown and dynamic quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1600835' first='Nathanael' last='Best'] ran for a pair of 4-yard touchdowns in the fourth quarter as Alamogordo rallied for a 31-20 victory over Albuquerque High Friday night at Milne Stadium.

Alamogordo improved to 3-0 for the first time since 2015 and will travel to Piedra Vista in Week 4. Albuquerque High fell to 2-1.

After Bowman's electrifying return gave Alamogordo an 18-6 lead at the start of the third quarter, Albuquerque High sandwiched a pair of touchdowns around an Alamogordo fumble to take 20-18 lead on [player_tooltip player_id='1266534' first='Alberto' last='Landeros']' 4-yard TD run with 4:23 left in the third quarter.

Landeros, quickly developing into one of the top running backs in the Albuquerque Metro Region, finished with 135 yards rushing and 1 TD on a workhorse 25 carries. His second consecutive game with 100+ rushing yards gives him 379 yards on the season, putting him on track for 1,200+ rushing yards in the regular season.

Bulldogs quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1748645' first='Andre' last='Martin'] tossed a 7-yard TD pass to [player_tooltip player_id='1613618' first='Juan' last='Carlos Landeros'] (4 receptions for 60 yards, 1 TD) to cut Alamogordo's lead to 18-13 with 7:16 left in the third quarter. Landeros made a nice leaping catch in the back of the end zone and managed to get one foot down. Martin completed 14-of-23 passes for 141 yards.

In the first half, Albuquerque High took the opening kickoff and kept the ball for almost 6-1/2 minutes on the way to a 23-yard field goal by [player_tooltip player_id='1266538' first='Gabriel' last='Fernandez'] and a 3-0 Bulldogs lead with 5:35 left in the first quarter.

Alamogordo finally got on the board early in the second quarter on two-way standout [player_tooltip player_id='1605059' first='Bryson' last='Bloom']'s 2-yard TD run. The 2-point conversion failed for a 6-3 Tigers lead.

Albuquerque High evened the score at 6-6 on Fernandez's 33-yard field goal with 3:32 left in the second quarter.

Alamogordo's offense, though, drove down the field in the final minutes of the first half. Best threw an 11-yard TD pass to Bowman into the left corner of the end zone with just 15 seconds left.

Again, the 2-point conversion failed. Alamogordo led, 12-6, at halftime.

VIDEO 1: First Quarter (Opening Drive - Albuquerque High FG)

https://youtu.be/T6_346wve08?si=j06e2iq-tb39WsP_

VIDEO 2: Late First Quarter

https://youtu.be/Dvhra3XVUqs?si=8rCFqiV9G6VLYoqx

VIDEO 3: Second Quarter (Alamogordo TD) + Albuquerque High FG)

https://youtu.be/Hz-M6c1_5vc?si=CsneWcGHgNJJwREW

VIDEO 4: Third Quarter (Two Albuquerque High TD)

https://youtu.be/v9nB6ctS4tU?si=NH3zeU_vKQhkzNxa

VIDEO 5: Late Third Quarter/Early Fourth Quarter (Alamogordo TD)

https://youtu.be/tA4xjIGI6T8?si=BniF2i64bgFCEX7q

VIDEO 6: Fourth Quarter (Alamogordo Final TD)

https://youtu.be/frCFNOeU9XE?si=16oAOSQ2wC2wbx8Z

BEST OF SOCIAL MEDIA

FOOTBALL: Hobbs beat Roswell 37-27 on Friday night.
