Last Friday the Rockhurst Hawklets traveled to Lee's Summit West for a hard fought match up that turned out to be closer than expected and came out on top. Here were the difference makers on offense in the game.

ROCKHURST

2027 RB [player_tooltip player_id='848166' first='Cash' last='Lewandowski'] (5'9" 185) put on an absolute show in the Hawklet victory with his dominant performance both rushing and catching the ball. Cash finished with 4 touchdowns in the game (3 rushing, 1 receiving) and came through for his team every time it needed a big play. Lewandowski is a quick twitch ball of muscle who can run past, around or over defenders. He has great vision and instincts to find a lane or open space, and then uses his quick feet, ability to change direction in small areas, and burst to accelerate to top speed in a hurry to make play after play, showing great toughness, durability and didn't seem to tire as he also plays linebacker on defense and had 7 total tackles on the night. He will continue to put himself on recruiter's maps with performances like this.

2027 QB Garett Miller (6'1"185) is a player who has been on my radar since middle school showing great promise for what was ahead in high school. He waited his turn behind a talented upperclassmen but has finally gotten his opportunity to start on varsity this season and has made the most of it leading his team to a 4-0 record to begin the season. Against the Titans I watched as he showed leadership and handling of the offense, along with overcoming adversity and an opponent that made a comeback, to take charge and pull away for the win behind his 9 of 15 for 236 yards and 3 touchdowns verses 1 pick performance. He did a good job seeing the field, finding his receiver and putting the ball on the money. Garrett showed a good arm and nice touch and ball placement. He threw equally well in the pocket and in rollouts.

2027 WR [player_tooltip player_id='563273' first='Blake' last='Thomas'] (5'10" 170) deserves mention on both sides of the ball with his play as he made big plays both at receiver with his 3 catches for 86 yards and touchdown, along with his showing at defensive ball. Watch jumps out about Thomas, besides his obvious speed and burst to close quickly and make plays, are his ball skills and concentration. He has great hands and timing to get in position to make grabs and picks. He also runs nice routes and did a nice job getting separation from defenders. He showed himself to a versatile weapon in all facets of the game.

2027 OT [player_tooltip player_id='1651420' first='James' last='O'Farrell'] (6'6" 285) is one of the most athletic offensive line prospects in his class in the state to go along with having great size. The big left tackle did a good job all game helping to open holes in the run game, along with doing a good job in pass pro and protecting his quarterback. He's off to a great start in his first season starting on varsity and has the tools that college coaches look for with his size, long arms, power and quick feet. He is a worker and continues to get better with his technique. He and his fellow offensive linemen did had an impressive game. A name for college coaches to have on their boards.

LEE'S SUMMIT WEST

2027 WR [player_tooltip player_id='1590186' first='Chris' last='Harris'] (6'0" 175) is an electrifying playmaker with the ball in his hands. He displayed his elite caliber track speed and great pass catching skills on the night to the tune of 8 catches for 108 yards and a touchdown. When he isn't flying down the field making catches he is a threat to rush the ball and take it the distance. The D1 prospect has impressive skills, including with his ability to block, and is a threat all over the field and in space. He's also a physical receiver who has good strength for his size and won't be stopped by arm tackles.

2028 OL [player_tooltip player_id='1059896' first='Brock' last='Barrows'] (6'3" 280) played double duty for the Titans at left tackle and along the defensive line utilizing his athleticism and aggressiveness at both spots. Brock his a highly skills offensive lineman already with good feet who uses his hands well and understands leverage and how to use it to his advantage in both his run blocking and pass pro. While his future will be on the interior in college, the ability to play left tackle now will continue to improve his stock in the eyes of college coaches. He has good strength and his continued development jumped out at me both skill wise and physically since watching him first as an 8th grader. You can see his trajectory and continued ceiling is high.

2026 QB Dawson Edwards (6'4" 220) did a nice job keeping his team in the game and fighting to the end in a comeback with both his arm and legs. Dawson made some big throws when he needed, and was a tough runner to bring down with the ball in his hands and ability to drag defenders and power his way into the end zone. Edwards finished the game 14 of 24 for 136 yards and had 12 rushes for 67 yards and a TD. He's a solid athlete and looks like he has the ability to possibly play tight end on the next level if not quarterback if he has the opportunity.

2027 OT [player_tooltip player_id='1906647' first='Jack' last='Barnett'] (6'5" 275) was a nice surprise to see for the Titans. Jack played both offensive tackle and defensive line for Lee's Summit West just as Barrows did. Besides his size being obviously noticeable, his ability to move and athletic ability also did. He has good quickness and did a solid job with his blocks and showed good strength and ability to finish. He battled the whole game, and while he's a little raw technique wise, I definitely saw the potential of a college prospect in his play against Rockhurst.
