[player_tooltip player_id='937176' first='Malachi' last='Garlington'] 27' WR Nelson

Maybe the fastest rising junior prospect in the NW. The multi-sport standout caught both of his team's TDs, in Nelson's 17-14 win over a top 10 Newberg program. Expect him to add multiple D1 offers in the coming months.

[player_tooltip player_id='1232699' first='Cade' last='Mitchell'] 26' QB Mountainside

The POY candidate Mitchell looked outstanding on Friday, dicing up Oregon City's D with 5 total TD's in the teams 35-0 win. It was a big momentum shift after the week 1 loss to Lakeridge. If he can continue with what he did over the offseason the sky's the limit.

[player_tooltip player_id='1011382' first='Angel' last='Valenzuela'] 26' RB/ [player_tooltip player_id='1591745' first='Ryder' last='Carpenter'] 27' RB Mountain View

Oregon's two best 5A teams could very well be out of the IMC. Mountain View looks like the real deal with the Sr. Valenzuela and the Jr. Carpenter (2) rushing for five more TDs in the 55-6 win over Mazama.

[player_tooltip player_id='937233' first='Sloan' last='Baker'] 27' QB West Linn

It would be hard to be more impressive than Baker has been through 2 games. The Lions took care of Sherwood with ease 49-7 on Friday with the Jr. QB making a statement and throwing another 5 TD's, all to underclassmen. All American [player_tooltip player_id='632957' first='Josiah' last='Molden'] caught 2 with [player_tooltip player_id='1121755' first='Tyson' last='Donnerberg'], [player_tooltip player_id='1609760' first='Luke' last='Cutting'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1121756' first='Ashden' last='Marquis'] all grabbing 1.

[player_tooltip player_id='1591586' first='Luke' last='Ortner'] 27' RB Jesuit

Ortner has racked up about 600 yards of offense in his first 2 games, rushing 38 times for 357 yards and 2 TDs, in the team's 34-21 win over Tigard. He came 1 yard short of breaking the school's all-time single game rushing record just to put his performance into perspective.

[player_tooltip player_id='1232743' first='Daniel' last='Heninger'] 27' RB Glencoe

Heninger has quietly become one of the state's top players over the last two years. He was dominant against Clack, going for 270 yards and 4 touchdowns, in the 42-26 win. The Crimson Tide D also stepped-up picking off 4 passes on the night.

[player_tooltip player_id='1234612' first='Jalen' last='Bauman'] 26' CB Lake Oswego

For the 2nd week in a row the 1st team all-state CB came up clutch in his teams 21-0 shutout win over #3 Central Catholic, picking off a pass and returning it 41 yards for a TD. The Rams hadn't been shut by an Oregon team in 8 years.

[player_tooltip player_id='1528942' first='Connor' last='Conneely'] 26' ATH Summit

As of right now you would probably have to consider Summit the favorite to win the 5A title. The undersized Conneely continues dominate, catching 11 balls for 171 yards and 3 TDs, in the team's 28-20 win over 2x state champ Wilsonville.

[player_tooltip player_id='769997' first='Talen' last='Williams'] 26' WR/DB Crook County

One of the state's biggest sleepers for the 2026 class. Williams transferred to 5A Crook County this past year from South Salem and could essentially be the mayor of the town before he's done. On the night he was key on both sides of the ball, catching 12 passes for 140 yards and a TD, to go with 3 PBU's and a forced fumble in the 28-0 shutout at Ashland.

[player_tooltip player_id='402416' first='Lamarcus' last='Bell'] 26' RB / [player_tooltip player_id='1059015' first='Justin' last='Craigwell'] 26' RB/LB Lake Oswego

The Utah commit Bell did his thing after rushing for 178 yards and 3 TDs last week. On the night him and [player_tooltip player_id='1059015' first='Justin' last='Craigwell'] combined to rush 23 times for 147 yards with Lamarcus scoring 2 more TDs, in the 21-0 win over CC. Give the 1st team all state LB Craigwell a lot of credit as he will be a candidate for 6A POY honors defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='876300' first='Xavior' last='Keller'] 27' ATH/ [player_tooltip player_id='1612598' first='Quenton' last='Lake'] 28' QB North Salem

Keller has absolutely killed it early this season with North starting 2-0. The 5-8 slot had 5 receptions for 132 yards and a TD (205 all purpose) in the 19-13 win over South Medford.

[player_tooltip player_id='769925' first='Oliver' last='Luebkert'] 26' WR/DB Beaverton

For the 2nd week in a row Luebkert showed why he will project as a 1st team all-state athlete, even if BHS doesn't end up a playoff team. In just 2 quarters he scored 3 TDs with 219 all-purpose yards, with an INT on D, in the team's 53-15 win over Franklin.

[player_tooltip player_id='1232760' first='Kai' last='Franco'] 26' SS Mountainside

Franco has a stock which continues to rise, adding 2 TFL's with an INT and a TD, in the 35-0 win over a decent Oregon City team. The Mavericks D stepped up big and he was key.

[player_tooltip player_id='1891259' first='Isaac' last='Tindall'] 26' RB Sprague

One of the state's more unknown players had a big night, rushing 16 times for 197 yards and 3 TDs, in the 55-21 win over North Medford. Numerous players got in the mix for Sprague with Tindall leading the way.

[player_tooltip player_id='914281' first='Koen' last='Campos'] 26' RB West Salem

Campos went for 2000 yards as a junior and is one of the more underrated players in the region in my opinion. He added another 3 TDs on Friday in the 29-14 win over Sheldon.

[player_tooltip player_id='1585698' first='Justin' last='Larsen'] 26' WR Clackamas

If we had a breakout player of the year category among 26's in the state of Oregon Larsen would sit at the top of the charts. The 3-sport athlete scored all of Clack's TDs in the 42-26 loss, running out of the wildcat while also catching 8 passes for 87 yards and another touchdown.

[player_tooltip player_id='1891262' first='Nico' last='Brugato'] 26' DB Nelson/ [player_tooltip player_id='1110921' first='Chaz' last='Katoanga'] 26' DB Nelson

Another one of the state's most underrated. Look for Brugato to fly up the rankings board when updated. His 4 PBU's were a big reason the Hawks were able to hold on in the 17-14 win over Newberg. [player_tooltip player_id='1110921' first='Chaz' last='Katoanga'] continued his impressive 1st team all-state projected season with him helping to lead two red zone drives being shut down.

[player_tooltip player_id='914279' first='Joseph' last='Janney'] 26' QB Henley

Janney continues to project as one of the top 4A players in the state and one of the top dual threat QBs in the region. He rushed for 3 touchdowns in the team's 33-7 win over reigning 4A state champ Marist, who is now 0-3.

[player_tooltip player_id='1345172' first='Jarrett' last='Martin'] 26' ATH Banks

Martin could very well be Oregon's 3A POY when all is said and done. He's had a phenomenal first few games, catching 8 passes for 131 yards and a TD, in the 42-13 win over 4A Seaside.

[player_tooltip player_id='1654724' first='Hunter' last='Vaughn'] 26' ATH Willamette

Speaking of player of the year candidates. Vaughn has D1 speed and can score in a variety of ways. He showed that again in the 55-21 win over a much-improved Grants Pass program, returning his 2nd punt of the year 68 yards for a TD and catching another for 67 yards.

[player_tooltip player_id='777449' first='Calen' last='Simonelic'] 26' ATH Tualatin

Dating back to last year, the 5-8 160-pound slot continues to be one of the best players on the field every week. His 127 yards receiving and 2 TDs against South Salem were key in the 57-12 blowout win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1241786' first='Thomas' last='Classen'] 27' RB Estacada

Not a lot of people know about Classen yet, but Estacada has some dudes coming up. He rushed 14 times for 126 yards and 2 TDs in the team's 28-6 win over North Bend. Look for the Rangers to once again make some noise at the 4A level.

[player_tooltip player_id='402397' first='Brison' last='Edwards'] 26' QB Lebanon

Keep an eye on Edwards this season, projecting as one of the best 5A players in the state. He was efficient hitting on 100% of his passes (6/6) with 4 TDs in the team's 53-0 win over Mckay.
