One of the most prolific players in the state, [player_tooltip player_id='1221942' first='Beau' last='Burns'] has somehow turned it up a notch to start his senior campaign. Moving from 8-man football to Class A this fall, he and BGM have only kept their collective foot on the gas, starting 2-1 (with their lone loss coming to Madrid, who is traditionally a small-school powerhouse), and scoring 150 points over their first three contests.

Burns himself is the engine that makes the BGM offense go, as he's completed 35-of-47 passes (74.5%) for 517 yards and five touchdowns through the air, while taking 66 carries for 847 yards and 14 touchdowns, including a long touchdown run of 84 yards.

[player_tooltip player_id='1901425' first='Laken' last='Caves'] broke onto the scene last season for Alburnett, and he's reached a new level to start his junior campaign. Ranking second in the state in all-purpose yards, Caves has done a little it (or a lot a bit) of everything for the Pirates to start the year.

In addition to taking 61 carries for 490 yards (eight yards per carry) and eight touchdowns, he's also caught 10 passes for 157 yards and a score. As a return man, Caves has also returned seven kicks or 256 yards and a touchdown and five punts for 88 yards. Not to mention he's already put together 17 tackles on defense and holds down punting duties for Alburnett.

Most well-known for his defensive prowess as a defensive back for Iowa City West, North Dakota commit [player_tooltip player_id='1238635' first='Ethan' last='Headings'] may be making his biggest impact on offense for the Trojans this fall.

After losing four-year starting quarterback, Jack Wallace to St. Thomas and Mason Woods to Iowa, Headings has helped West transition into its next phase of attacking opposing offenses. After posting just 10 catches for 157 yards and four scores last season, Headings nearly surpassed or matched all of those numbers in one game this season.

In week two vs. Dubuque Hempstead, Headings caught four passes for 170 yards and four touchdowns. In total this year, he's grabbed 15 passes for 423 yards and five scores. Turns out listing him as an athlete here on PrepRedzone Iowa was the right choice.

The most productive player in the state so far this season, junior quarterback for Iowa Valley [player_tooltip player_id='1197463' first='Nolan' last='Kriegel'] is on track to blow his 2024 numbers -- which were ridiculous in their own right -- out of the water. Over ten games as a sophomore, Kriegel completed 47-of-86 passes for 1,119 yards passing along with 18 touchdowns. He also ran for 1,991 and 40 touchdowns on 233 carries.

In four games for his 8-man squad, Kriegel has already completed 16-of-23 passes for 301 yards and four scores. On the ground, he's taken 82 carries for 899 yards and 21 touchdowns. He leads all classes in all-purpose yards with 1,050, and he's the only player in the state to have eclipsed 1,000 all-purpose yards.

Kriegel doesn't play at the highest level of high school football in Iowa, but his ability to put up some stupid numbers has to be recognized.

A rusher of the football that has reached an entirely new stratosphere of production as a sophomore, Jayden Nanthan clearly did some extra work this offseason and is taking advantage of West Burlington Notre Dame's run-centric offense.

As a freshman, Nanthan took 18 carries for 106 yards in ten games.

In three games so far this season for the Falcons, Nanthan has taken 77 carries for 707 yards and six touchdowns. That, and he's taken two kicks back for 99 yards and a touchdown.

Nanthan is a stock-riser personified and should be a name to know going forward in recruiting circles.
