Nate's Big Dogs of the Game: Hutchinson Tigers

Hutchinson's QB1 [player_tooltip player_id='1654532' first='Graydon' last='Rostberg'] is a 2028 prospect that I felt had the highest upside of the underclassmen that caught my attention for the Tigers. It was mostly seen in the second half, but Graydon showed off a patient running ability that also seemed to have good vision as well. The throws I watched Graydon showed to me where the upside lies, as I felt a handful of the throws were where they needed to be as far as ball placement, it was just the wide receiver was off line on his route. Certainly a 2028 quarterback prospect to keep tracking out of the 320.     There's no question the Tigers had some underclassmen on offense as another 2028 that caught my attention for Hutch was running back Kyle Bell. He made what he could in the carries he was given, as the main skillset that popped out in my eyes with Kyle was the balanced fluidity he had every carry. He's not the biggest RB you are ever going to see in this 2028 MN class, but I also felt this young man logged the most hard-earned yards after contact for the Tigers offense on Friday night.     One of the more nasty reps I caught from the Tigers offensive line, came from 2026 offensive linemen Griffin Neppl. This young man had the strength, vicious punch, and ideal pad level for what was the best looking pancake I saw from the Hutchinson Tigers on Friday night. No tape on Griffin as of yet, but the powering looking frame he showed too could be a small school name to know.     Another offensive linemen that got a solid grade watching a good chunk of his reps on Friday night in Becker was Isaiah Ishihara another under the radar name in the 2026 class for Hutch. The reps I watched showed constantly well-versed pad level as Isaiah seemed to be quck to set the angle of his hands to get in position. This was seen on a constant basis, which is always a bright sign is watching a new prospect on our radar like Isaiah.     Hanley made most his biggest impact on the defensive side of the ball despite being graded as a defensive back at the moment. He was one of the more intriguing athletes the Tigers had in their secondary based on the key plays I watched him make as a defensive back. The first skillset that popped out with Hanley was how balanced he was as a ball tracker when the ball was thrown his way, as he showed off a good poise and footwork to slow the wide receiver on their route. Another area that stood out for Hanley, was his proficent tackling ability right away when the ball carrier reached the second level as he was usually the first to the ball on numerous reps I watched when the ball got there.     If I was voting for my Big Dog of the Game for Hutchinson, my vote would have went for 2026 LB/FB Jack Maiers. It didn't take long to gauge that this kid plays with a great motor and that was commonly noted from what I saw from him on both sides of the ball. I don't keep a huge amount of stats in my notes, but my notebook was filled with tackles that came from Jack as a linebacker that seemed to crash quick with his solid short area vision. Jack also logged the lone touchdown for the Tigers on the evening and surely looks like a kid that could play in the MIAC. Not on Twitter and not a lot of tape, but could be a MIAC steal.
