Friday Night Heroes: Week 4’s Top Standouts

Florida has long been a hotbed of high school football talent. Annually, Florida produces some of the nation's top prospects. Florida athletes are known for their speed, agility, and raw athleticism. These prospects have made names for themselves and have caught the attention of coaches and scouts at the collegiate level. With the 2025 season getting closer, we're looking for players whose stock is rising in the state.   These players are all talented and have college-level abilities. Some of these players have a few offers, but all of them have the ability to play college football at some level.   There are some big-time, highly rated prospects and several sleeper prospects who should all be getting looks for the next level. This list is full of stud prospects. [player_tooltip player_id='1895277' first='David' last='Boeckel'] (c/o 2028) Position: Quarterback School: Hollywood Hills High Height/Weight: 5'10”, 160 lbs Current Season Stats (through Week 4): No full season stats available, but in his last game he completed 20-36 for 378 yards, 3 touchdowns, and added a rushing touchdown.   Evaluation: Boeckel is an emerging young passer who flashed big-time production in his most recent outing. Despite being only a 2028 prospect, he showed poise and command, throwing for 378 yards and 3 touchdowns while also contributing on the ground. His willingness to push the ball downfield and ability to extend plays with his legs make him a promising dual-threat. With continued physical development and experience, Boeckel has the tools to become a dynamic playmaker at the quarterback position.   Rico Buitrago (c/o 2026) Position: Quarterback School: Holy Trinity Episcopal Height/Weight: 5'10”, 170 lbs Current Season Stats (through Week 4): 56-92 for 943 yards and 11 touchdowns; 18 carries for 72 yards and 4 rushing touchdowns.   Evaluation: Buitrago has been one of the most productive signal-callers in his class to start the season. His accuracy and efficiency stand out, completing over 60% of his passes while accounting for 15 total touchdowns through four games. He's shown the ability to spread the ball around and attack defenses vertically, while also adding a rushing element near the goal line. At 5'10”, 170 lbs, he plays with confidence and toughness, giving him the look of a quarterback who can carry an offense and make plays in key moments.   [player_tooltip player_id='1279444' first='Ayden' last='Wallace'] (c/o 2026) Position: Quarterback School: Lakewood High Height/Weight: 6'0”, 185 lbs Current Season Stats (through Week 4): 51-71 for 850 yards and 6 touchdowns; 17 carries for 240 yards and 4 rushing touchdowns.   Evaluation: Wallace is a true dual-threat quarterback who has put together an impressive start to the season. Completing over 70% of his passes, he's been highly efficient through the air while also showing explosive playmaking ability as a runner with 240 yards and 4 rushing scores. His athleticism and quick decision-making allow him to keep defenses off balance, and at 6'0”, 185 lbs, he combines solid size with playmaking versatility. Wallace is a rising 2026 prospect with the skillset to hurt defenses in multiple ways.   Noah Walstad (c/o 2027) Position: Quarterback School: Boca Ciega High Height/Weight: 6'5”, 175 lbs Current Season Stats (through Week 4): 32-65 for 750 yards and 8 touchdowns.   Evaluation: Walstad brings intriguing size and arm talent to the quarterback position. At 6'5”, he has the frame to stand tall in the pocket and deliver strikes downfield, already throwing for 8 touchdowns on just 32 completions. His ability to stretch the field vertically and find chunk plays has made him a dangerous passing threat early in his career. As he fills out physically and sharpens his consistency, Walstad's tools give him significant upside as a quarterback prospect in the 2027 class.   [player_tooltip player_id='1857961' first='Ben' last='Lejkowski'] (c/o 2026) Position: Quarterback School: Cambridge Christian High Height/Weight: 6'1”, 165 lbs Current Season Stats (through Week 4): 41-74 for 687 yards and 8 touchdowns.   Evaluation: Lejkowski has showcased strong production to open the season, throwing for 8 touchdowns and nearly 700 yards through four games. His mechanics and ability to deliver an accurate ball have allowed him to keep his offense efficient, and he's proven capable of creating scoring opportunities when drives reach the red zone. At 6'1”, 165 lbs, he has room to add size and strength, but his early playmaking ability and poise under center suggest he is a quarterback to watch closely in the 2026 cycle.
