His ability to get downfield and explosiveness returning to the ball on comeback concepts makes him a handle for secondaries when a team is trying to get him the ball. Does participate in track in the offseason posting times of 11.02 in the 100m and 22.76 in the 200m.   He is a very coachable player, who does not shy away from playing the position fully, extending to blocking for his teammates. He has very good length and a frame that holds good weight that will continue to bulk into a strong X-receiver type.   A standout on a state championship winning basketball team, he has the vertical ability to box out receivers and has shown he understands to keep space for him to haul in red zone passes.   Alcoa has had success using him as a power slot at times, giving him a bit of flexibility as to where he can line up in the formation. As he continues to develop his route tree, he could become a mismatch over the middle of the field especially. He understands how to use space to maintain a throwing lane for his quarterback to get him the ball, having worked off strong outside receivers in his high school career.   As he continues to get comfortable within the offense he has been quickly learning after transferring late in the offseason, he should be given more opportunities over the middle of the field. He does let passes get into his body instead of plucking it in with his hands, which improving upon could help him get upfield quicker, especially on quick slants to take advantage of his acceleration, in which he has shown as a kick returner. He has a strong baseline group of tools to be an effective slot receiver at the next level and will be intriguing to watch as he continues to ease in to the Brentwood Academy offense.     Tae Walden Jr is a long, lanky receiver that has the athleticism to run the entire route tree and get open at any part of the field. His good to very good length, strong understanding of tempo, and natural athleticism make him an intriguing receiving option that can be moved around the formation.   He does currently have a very slender build, but if he can begin to fill out his frame, the high-level potential for him at the next level is obvious, especially with how long his arms look on tape.   He comes from a football family with his father having won a Super Bowl as part of an strong 11-year NFL career and those bloodlines seem to show up with his understanding of the game, knowing when to accelerate or decelerate and just simply never stopping at trying to give his quarterback an easy and open target.
