2026 RANKINGS UPDATE: Quarterback Breakdown

<p><strong>FALL UPDATE:</strong> We have officially released a new set of rankings for the class of 2026 in Arkansas. In this article, we will showcase the 2026 quarterbacks with analysis. Over the next month, I will break down these rankings by position in each class, including other segments. For the quarterbacks, I will provide you with evaluations of some of the top prospects and the players flying under the radar:</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='204462' first='Dax' last='McMellon'] comes in at number 51 overall and fifth at the position. In his opening week last week, he went 26/40 for 457 yards and five touchdowns. McMellon is a gunslinger who will thread the needle at any field level. He displays good velocity on the football with the pocket awareness to evade pressure post-snap. Thompson led his team down to the wire against the multi-time championship team, the Greenwood Bulldogs. His athleticism is dangerous, and he can throw on the run effectively. Thompson displays good pocket mobility and awareness of incoming pressure while showcasing his ability to keep his eyes downfield and deliver the ball accurately and with poise. Hampton is another athletic quarterback that can be dangerous on the ground. He displays solid footwork both inside and outside the pocket, with the ability to roll out and deliver an accurate strike on the run.
