Who Had The Top Rushing Performances in Week 0?

Week 0 was ELECTRIC!   We had so many dominant performances across the state, we felt it'd be right to highlight who performed the best on the ground.   Here are some of the top rushing performances from Week 0. Let's dive in!    [player_tooltip player_id='1408968' first='Maurice' last='Winston'] is an explosive back out of Randolph County that we covered earlier this year, and just had a ridiculous start to his senior season.   "Winston is incredibly fast and can move effortlessly with the ball in his hands. He's excellent at finding rushing lanes/following his blocks, has incredible speed in the open field, and is extremely difficult to bring down due to his contact balance."   Winston went off against Woodland last week, racking up 13 carries for 263 yards and 4 TDs.   Woodland could not stop Winston. He broke off so many huge carries on the ground and was a huge factor in his team's 44-21 win. I'm really looking forward to seeing what else Winston accomplishes this season. He has a huge year ahead. "Unruh has some phenomenal field vision. He knows exactly what lane he needs to take to maximize each carry and has the athleticism to capitalize on them for huge gains. Unruh is a heck of a runner; he's great at making defenders miss and consistently steps out of tackles on a routine basis."   Unruh had a huge first week back, racking up 26 carries for 212 yards and 3 TDs. Winfield couldn't take him down. He did a terrific job using his contact balance and strength to his advantage, and consistently required several defenders to take him down.   You can watch Unruh's performance below. I'm looking forward to watching Unruh the rest of this season. Corner has some serious offensive talent and a big year ahead.      [player_tooltip player_id='1853954' first='Jaylin' last='Wright'] is an electric back out of Eufuala who's off to a great start this season.   "Wright thrives off his speed and quickness. He's highly elusive, can easily make defenders miss, and has the speed to separate and outrun entire defenses once he breaks into the open field.   Even more impressive, Wright can throw the ball as well. He constantly keeps defenses on their toes with his dual-threat ability. It's really fun to watch him play.   Wright recorded 14 carries for 196 yards and 3 TDs in his team's 32-18 win over Booker T. Washington last Friday. Wright was excellent this week. He did a great job capitalizing on the lanes his OL provided up front, making a huge impact on a limited number of carries.   I'm excited to watch Wright moving forward. He's a talented RB with a huge year ahead of him this fall. Take a look at some of his junior tape below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1853955' first='Isaiah' last='Bennett'] is a talented 2027 RB from Sipsey Valley we watched dominate this past week.   "I hadn't watched Bennett before this week, but man, he impressed. He's an incredibly physical back who makes defenders work to take him down. He runs hard, has great contact balance, and can easily shed off/power through anyone trying to take him down.   Bennett also has impressive vision that helps lead him to huge plays on the ground. He's great at finding lanes and does a great job waiting for and following his blockers around the field."   Last Friday, Bennett came up huge in his team's 69-6 win over Greene County- recording 10 carries for 195 rushing yards and 3 TDs.   We're all going to have to watch out for Bennett moving forward. Make sure you take a look at some of his film from last week below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1853962' first='Jake' last='Harper'] is a talented prospect out of Fairview   "At 6'0 215, Harper is a chore to tackle. He runs hard, can withstand contact, and has the size and speed to create big plays on the ground. Harper does a great job maximizing every carry. He's really efficient with the ball and consistently finds extra yards after defenders initiate contact.   Once he gets moving, good luck stopping Harper. He has some impressive acceleration in the open field and can easily outrun defenders in pursuit.   Harper had a huge performance in his team's 48-0 shutout of Fultondale last week, ending the game with 13 carries for 191 yards and 4 TDs on the ground.   Harper was extremely efficient this week. He did an excellent job seeing the field and made the most out of a limited number of carries, dominating the ground in a huge opening week win.
