Earlier today, we released the updated 2028 rankings. Here are 10 of the top New Additions (listed in alphabetical order):

[player_tooltip player_id='1825979' first='Trey' last='Barta'], Carlsbad: Barta is a promising newcomer at linebacker for Carlsbad. And he gets to play alongside Power 4 target [player_tooltip player_id='1248663' first='Colton' last='McKibben'] in his first season with the Cavemen varsity.

[player_tooltip player_id='1826025' first='Gunther' last='Bowen'], Farmington: Bowen is intriguing and impressively versatile player who could contribute on both sides of the ball for the Scorpions. He saw limited action on the D-Line last season as a freshman. He can also play LB and RB.

[player_tooltip player_id='1827269' first='Dexter' last='Chapman'], Texico: The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Chapman brings great size and skill to the Texico defensive line. He got his feet wet in a couple of varsity games in 2024 before an injury shortened his season. The Wolverines are loaded again.

[player_tooltip player_id='1826113' first='Cody' last='Cooper'], Silver: Cooper has the potential to become one of the top running backs in southern New Mexico. He should be the Fightin Colts No. 1 RB in 2025 after a promising freshman campaign.

[player_tooltip player_id='1825989' first='Max' last='Marcum'], Volcano Vista: Marcum is competing to be the Hawks' No. 2 RB and should play linebacker as well. Marcum will see plenty of action as a sophomore. The Hawks open the 2025 season Thursday night against La Cueva.

[player_tooltip player_id='1825997' first='Christopher' last='Martinez'], West Mesa: The 5-foot-10, 225-pound Martinez is a promising newcomer to West Mesa's defensive line. Also listed as fullback on the MaxPreps roster.

[player_tooltip player_id='1827334' first='Jeremiah' last='Ortega'], Pojoaque Valley: One of the top young offensive linemen in northern New Mexico. The 6-foot-1, 240-pound Ortega started as a freshman for the Elks in 2024. He runs the 40 in under 5.0 seconds, so he moves well for a linemen of his size. Added substantial weight to his frame during the off-season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1827370' first='Dominic' last='Terrazas'], Hot Springs: The 255-pound Terrazas will be the center for the Tigers and the anchor of the O-Line in 2025, and beyond. High football IQ and technically sound. Developing into one of the top young offensive linemen in southern New Mexico.

[player_tooltip player_id='1826184' first='Sincere' last='Torres'], Chaparral: The 6-foot-3, 285 pound Torres already possesses the great size and mobility you need to excel at the high school and college level. College coaches should have Torres on their radar very soon.

[player_tooltip player_id='1826038' first='Marcellius' last='Williams'], Highland: The 6-foot-2, 240-pound Williams is another young offensive lineman with tremendous size and mobility. Highland's offensive line should have nice size in 2025, and is expected to be much improved over last season. In a couple of years, we may be talking about Williams as one of the best O-Lineman in the Albuquerque Metro Region.
