We're now 10 days away from the start of the 2025 season. It's safe to say players are tired of practicing against their teammates and are ready to square off against new competition. Especially prospects from the Class of ‘26.

They'll be the center of attention in this report. Before the season begins I wanted to highlight a few seniors flying under the radar that could use a little more exposure. These are five defensive prospects that folks should follow along throughout the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1115788' first='Deanthony' last='Jones'] - Wichita East, 5'11”, 195, ATH

I recently rewatched Jones' film over the weekend, and I'm excited to see how Wichita East will utilize him during his senior year. Jones boasts an athletic frame and possesses the versatility to play multiple positions on defense. In 2024, Jones took snaps at inside backer, outside backer, and a little safety. He'll be an intricate piece to the Blue Aces' defense, and he's an underrated playmaker at running back as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1363884' first='Bre'Naj' last='Price'] - Schlagle, 6'2”, 195, ATH

Price doesn't exactly fit the mold of the modern edge rusher in terms of size. However, he makes up for that with his quickness and high motor. He heads into his senior campaign with over 13 career sacks and over 20 career tackles for loss. Look for him to add to those totals this season. Also, he should see more targets at tight end too.

[player_tooltip player_id='904449' first='Tremaine' last='Savage'] - Highland Park, 5'10”, 150, DB

Savage has been long overdue for some coverage. The 5-foot-10 corner heads into his senior campaign with three years of varsity experience under his belt, and is looking to make this season his best. Through three varsity seasons he's recorded 69 total tackles, a boatload of pass breakups, three interceptions, and two forced fumbles. Savage has been offered by Bethany College and Ottawa University.

[player_tooltip player_id='1114751' first='Jesus' last='Delgado'] - Salina Central, 6'1”, 225, LB

Salina Central is sure to have recruiters in attendance throughout the season. They have some talented prospects on their roster, and Delgado is one that recruiters should definitely keep an eye on. He boasts an ideal frame for an inside backer at the collegiate level, and he has the play style to match his size. His coaching staff trusts him too, as he was named a team captain for this season.

Jaxson Cuba - Abilene, 6'2”, 210, DE/TE, Unranked

This group rounds off with an unranked prospect that we'll be monitoring this season. Jaxson Cuba of Abilene is a solid athlete capable of playing defensive end, tight end, and he's even shown promise as a long snapper. During his senior year though, folks should look for Cuba to shine at DE. He holds offers from Benedictine College and McPherson College.
