We are one week out from the start of the Kansas high school football season and I can't wait for the action to get underway. I have so far this summer covered Western Kansas linebackers, defensive ends, defensive tackles, secondary players and the running back position in the last update. In this installment, I will be showcasing five wide receivers from the Western half of the state. They will be coming from such leagues as a the Western Athletic Conference, the Mid Continent, the Northern Plains and two from the Northwest Kansas League. These prospects will be coming from the 2026 and 2027 classes.

All of these prospects have been getting after it this off-season in the weight room, summer camps and any other athletic activities they have been a part of. I'm eager to see how they have developed and perform in the coming weeks.

Once again profiles for each of these athletes have been created on Prep Redzone and can be claimed by using the following link.

If Liberal is to have a similar successful season like they did this past year, the 6-foot-3, 185-pound Fieser will be a big reason for that success. He possess big play capabilities due to his length, strength and speed. If you are looking for a home-run deep ball threat or a red zone target, look no further. Also a very good student, with him carrying a 3.6 GPA in the classroom.

By far his teams main weapon on offense, this past season he had 33 catches for 783 yards and nine touchdowns. Due to his big year, he was honored as a First Team All-Western Athletic Conference receiver and also Honorable Mention All-State for the same position.

Fromholtz was one of the top returning receivers in all of 8-Man football for this coming season. The Indians definitely need his leadership to build upon their 5-4 record from this past season.

He gets the job done on both sides of the ball and will look to build on his First Team All-Northwest Kansas League and Honorable Mention All-State 8-Man I honors as a receiver.

The 6-foot-0, 165-pound athlete shows great athletic ability and explosiveness. On the offensive side of the ball he hauled in 40 catches for 617 yards and 10 touchdowns.

He was just as effective on the defensive side, where he had 48 tackles (31 solo and 17 assisted), 17.0 tackles for loss and two sacks.

At 6-foot-4, 175-pounds Wilson is the type of prospect frame wise that college coaches are looking for. An All-State performer on both side of the ball as a sophomore for a team that lost in the 8-Man II state semifinals. He was a Honorable Mention All-State 8-Man II wide receiver but also was First Team All-Northwest Kansas League at the same position. Defensively he was a Second Team All-Northwest Kansas League as a defensive end.

On the season he had 28 receptions for 427 yards and 10 touchdowns. Average 15.3 yards per catch on the season.
Bell is a one of the top receivers in all of 8-Man football but he is also a tremendous safety when playing defense. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound was yet another high quality multiple sport athlete participating in football, basketball and track. He is a 12'6″ pole vaulter, where he placed 6th in the 2A state meet.

Standing 5-foot-6, 155-pounds, don't let Middleton's size fool you as he is one of the most dynamic playmakers in all of small school football in Kansas. It doesn't matter if it is a receiver or as return man, he just produces at a very high level for the Broncos.

Once again be on the look-out for more positional prospect breakdowns from the western half of the state. Next update we stay on the offensive side of the ball where I'll showcase some of the best tight ends that Western Kansas has to offer.

I'm always looking for the next studs to showcase and evaluate, so don't be afraid to follow and message me at @Coach_Mitchum on X.
